  • Dear Gyms,

You all suck.  I am looking into a membership once Matt has a job for at least 60 days and I cannot find one that really has what I want.  I have looked at the 24 near me and my work, the lifetime near me and the golds.  None of them have the class schedules I am looking for at all.

    -frustrated me

Have you looked at LaFitness? they have such a variety of schedules at all the gyms.

    Dear PinkPlastic -

Hi!  Who are you?  I don't think I remember seeing you post over here before!  Welcome!

  • Dear DH's New Boss:

I appreciate the fact that you really like DH and think he does a great job.....

but for the love of goodness, quit making him travel so much!!!!

I kinda like hanging out with him and am tired of having to constantly say goodbye.

Thank you very much - but please keep sending the paychecks Cool

  • Dear DPS Offices in Garland and Rockwall,

You suck.  How in the world do you expect kids to get their licenses when you only test 10 people a day?  You are open for 9 hours for heaven's sake.  Now my husband and child have to camp out for at least 21/2 hours and hope and pray they will be there early enough to get an assigned time.  So that they can drive back hours later for the test.  And this means my child will have to test after getting up at 5 am.  Great system.

    Dear BL

I love 24!  That's too bad you can't find anything.  I know how frustrating that is since I depend on the classes too for my workouts.  Luckily I live between 2 gyms.  Hope you find something.

    Dear Las Vegas,

I cannot wait to see you next month!

I remember reading an article about this earlier this year and I am so very grateful I did not have to deal with this.  The reason for those rules is because they laid off about half of the people who give the tests.  There were a few parents that took their kid to Mount Pleasant, I think, where it's much smaller AND I believe another pro was that you can schedule your test online, whereas in Dallas you could not.

  • Dear Pinkplasticdoll - I think I have seen you on other boards, but welcome to the DFW board! The group of girls here is great. - Leslie

Dear UTA tech support dude - Just because my email address is old school and ends in exchange.uta.edu, it absolutely does not give you the right to yell at me that I am giving you my netID instead of my email address. Just because my email address is older than your IT career, it doesn't mean you are right and I am wrong. Suck it. - Leslie

Dear TTC - You suck. I have been an angel for the past 4 months. Not drinking at all, keeping my workouts light during the 2ww, watching the medications I am taking to make sure it doesn't eff up the whole process somehow. No more. If I don't see good news in the next few days, there is a new regime around here. Obviously, crack wh0res and people who don't deserve children receive preferential treatment, so I am going to go get some crack. Or maybe I will just start crossfit and become a cult member. That should get me a baby. - Leslie

  • Dear DH-

Thank you for offering to go grocery shopping so I could get my workout in.  It's also okay that you lost my fingernail polish and could not find the pistachio's.

  • Dear book club/movie Nesties - PLEASE go vote on what you would like to do Saturday. As of right now there are four votes, I know there are other book club girls out there. I want to make sure the majority truly wins on this one as no one should be forced to do something they don't want to.

  • BL - I know it is a lot of up front cost, but LA is offering a deal that if you pay for 2 years membership up front,  two years later you pay $99 a year.  I think DH is going to do that.  24 had that deal a few years back, and I now only pay $69 a year for gym membership.  Again, it is a lot up front, but if you can afford it, it is SO nice the years after.

Stephie - I'm jealous of your vegas trip.  have fun!

    Leslie - :(

Dear work - I would like to ignore you today.

  • Dear OMHs,

My back hurts today, I think from my workout yesterday.  I did Day 8 of 30DS, and I don't think I did anything very differently, but one side of my back is really hurting, about halfway down.  Not cool!

Also, I had homemade pork tamales for the first time last night, and MMMMMM were they yummy!

Brianna, I was thinking the same thing.

    That's all I got - have a lovely Tuesday!

I am very sorry that you are frustrated.  I am sure that 4 months seems like forever, but just keep telling yourself it honestly isn't that long.  Your time will come!!!

In the meantime, quit your job and become single again.  I think that brings babies, too!!!

Co-Signed, Me.      I am a 24 member and I LOVE the classes in Bedford near my office.    The ones around my house le-suck, except for the Super Sport....which as I have mentioned before I refuse to pay exorbitant amounts to go to.

Leslie -  Don't get discouraged!   I think maybe you should go to a more relaxed lifestyle, actually.   I don't know anything about this stuff, but it seems like changing your routine might actually make your body less inclined to do what you want it to do.

We probably went to the same 24 hour all last year and didn't even know it. I wish I would have, we could have done classes together. Now I don't have a membership anymore. :(

Oh really??  How did we never figure that out before!   I went to both of them...the one on Plaza and the one right off 121.   I usually only take the Body Pump classes (and before there was Pump I did 24lift and 24set) though.   I work out and run at home.

  • Dear nesties,

Things have been crazy here so I haven't been able to get on as much. I can't make it to the Book club because my family planned my grandmother's birthday on that day and I just found out. It was a great book and I guess I'll join in next month. I've been reading about a book a week maybe a little more then that. It's been great!

    - Loving my book reading time

     Dear UTA,

Screw you! I got kicked out of the system because of a glitch in the system. I am pretty sure I'm not going next semester! I will be preparing for Spring now. Oh well, I guess I will just pray and see if this is really the path I'm suppose to be on.

Same boat Deepthi. Somehow after attending for years my transfer credits just vanished from my records and I was called into a meeting with my advisor about the need to finish my basics before finishing out my history requirements. Ummm...my basics were finished years ago, but thanks anyway. I just don't understand how the school stays open sometimes.

ETA: Yep Tiffany - same 24 Hour - I also went to both but took classes in the morning, so that's probably why we didn't see each other.

  • Leslie,

I'm sorry you are getting frustrated!  I hope you get good news soon!  And like Tiffany said, I didn't change anything in my routine so maybe that has something to do with it.  As DH's friends would tell us all the time, drunk people get pregnant all the time so you should probably get drunk to increase your odds.  I don't recommend this but I didn't stop drinking and I didn't really stop anything else I was doing except some of my meds.

    Book Club ladies,

Y'all have fun Saturday.  I saw previews for the movie finally and it looks really good.  I wish I had time to read more but by the time I actually sit down to read I'm asleep within 10 mins.

    Dear heat,

I know we are getting tired of hearing about the weather but it is getting ridiculous.  I took the temp of our pool last night just for fun and it was 99.4 degrees.  I can't even get in the water.  It's like getting into a hot tub instead of a pool.  And who really wants to get hotter these days?  I will be so happy when Fall decides to show up!

You may get lucky. Some of my friends had no issues and others had lots of issues. I even had one friend get approved for graduation, walk and then get told when he went to pick up his diploma that he actually needed three more hours and they had missed it when he applied for graduation. He ended up having to take a summer class at night since he already had a job. Ridiculous.

#1 - Come to the movie. Even if you haven't read the book you will still enjoy it.

#2 - I just wrote three dark paragraphs here and then I deleted them. I wrote the original letter in a light hearted spirit and I am trying not to let the bitter come out this month. All I will say is - it is what it is, we will have a child someday but for now I need a life that isn't consumed with making a baby.

    Leslie,

We did this. The "getting fed up", I mean. Only it took us nearly 18 months to get there. I wish we'd have done it sooner. That last month was the only time in the TTC process we actually enjoyed, and BAM. Baby.

I'm of the belief that the TTC process is God's way of teaching us that with kids, life doesn't always go on our plan. You'll get there, sweetie. But you and your DH are absolutely on my prayer list, because I know how frustrating it can be!

    Love,

    Chelsea

I had a lot to say too and erased and re-wrote several times.  But, I will say that I think that your attitude is perfect.  I know that it's really easy to get beat down, and being told how someone (anyone for that matter) just didn't do anything and wound up pregnant is definitely not something you want or need to hear.  I think that when you end up getting pregnant, it's going to be the PERFECT time for you and your DH and it will make your pregnancy and child so special to you (not that anyone else's child isn't special, but.. I hope you know what I'm saying).  Your future baby is lucky to have a kick-ass Momma like you already!

#2 - Waterworks central at my desk.

    Everyone else -

I am so thankful for all of your support. It really makes pretty much everything in life easier to deal with having 15 sounding boards. The day I stumbled onto the The Knot was a lucky one...even if it did mean talking about the same wedding venues with randoms for way too long. :)

    Signed - Sloppy Sentimental Leslie

    P.S. - I promise I will cut out the cheesiness now. :)

Don't look at tomorrow's blog. I'm posting about 100 of our personal pictures from Kauai, and just working on them today has me itching to go back rightnowrightnow.

I'd hate for any of your husbands to blame me when you demand a trip to Hawaii! :)

  • Ladies who recommended LA fitness,

They dont offer body pump which is one of my two requirements, the other being spinning of some sort.  I think I will end up going with 24 hour because we get a discount at work and its the closest to me at home and work.

-Girl who will probably spend hours more researching this before I make a decision

    Tiffany,

I was just shocked at the lack of variety in the evenings, the two near my home and work only have body pump 3 or 4 times per week.  My gym in Omaha had body pump 3-4 times per day.

    -bummed out

    Stephie,

YAY for Vegas, I have never been but maybe someday.

    Leslie,

I am totally late to this party but I agree with all the other ladies, I think the attitude you have is wonderful and when it does happen it will be perfect.  I can totally see doing some things to help your chances but like you said you need to live your life!  Also, I think its totally okay for you to be a little bitter on here because we know you have those around you getting the news you want but arent getting and because of how you are you are nothing but nice and excited for them so a little vent now and then cant hurt.
