Weekend Trip from London Update
Thanks for everyone's advice! We've decided on the following itinerary:
Friday - Leave London around noon - Stonehenge - Wells Cathedral - Weston-super-Mare (total drive time: 2.5 hours)
Saturday - Beach stuff in Weston-super-Mare - Plus, the famers market is held on the second Saturday of the month so we're in luck
Sunday - Drive to Bath and spend the day there before heading back to London (total drive time: 2.5 hours)
I've reserved a room at a dogfriendly B&B in Weston, so it looks like we're all set!
Any tips or ideas about these places?
Re: Weekend Trip from London Update
It sounds like a lovely weekend!
If you have time on Friday, Old Sarum is an old earthworks 'fortress' near Salisbury, and kind of neat.
you must eat at the Moon & Sixpence in Bath. Seriously best food ever. They have tables outside so I would think they would be okay with a dog at one of those.
On the drive back from Bath, you can route it through the New Forest which is amazing to see but will add about an hour to your journey.
You're not the only person to recommend the Moon & Sixpence, so I just looked it up and it recently closed!!! I'm so sad, because it was supposed to be amazing
Sounds awesome!
I've been by Stonehenge and to Bath and Wells. And on a funny note, I went to Wells Christmas of '99 and there was a big sign on Wells Cathedral that said "The Millennium is coming, come inside for salvation." Or something to that effect.
