I get sad when I can't find an answer to an issue on google. I need to go check out silver shoes this weekend, my friend's wedding is right around the corner.
Bio Good Times
I didn't sleep well last night, I'm grouchy, my eyes are puffy from allergies, and my face kind of looks like I'm a teenager again because it's breaking out. I need some happy in my morning.
On a more upbeat note, if we ever have to evacuate the city, I now have a gameplan for what we need to grab before leaving, because that is what I was thinking about last night when I couldn't sleep. Because everyone needs to know that sort of thing, right?
I just tried to register for my classes at UTA and got a pop-up that I couldn't because I had a Bursar hold of $703.45. I called the Bursar to see what's up and they told me it was for architecture library charges from the end of last semester. I have never been to the architecture library, much less checked out a book. We are now at this impasse of me saying I didn't check out the books and them claiming I did and have to pay it before I can register.
I have no idea how to prove that I didn't check out the books, my student ID was used...UTA makes me so angry.
Chelsea - Dang you.

I got new contacts yesterday and they are much stronger than my previous prescription. I brought my glasses to work today, too, because I am not sure how long I will be able to take my new "super vision."
And you all know what a dummy I was at the dermatologist a few weeks ago. I basically did the same thing yesterday at the eye doctor. The cashier said, "Would you like to get your year supply of contacts now so you can get an $85 rebate?" I said yes an then realized that a year supply equals 8 boxes and I don't ever use that many because I don't change my contacts that often.
After I got home, I called them back and said I had decided that I didn't want to order them all upfront so cancel the order and credit my Visa. The lady wasn't very helpful and said she had already placed the order and billed my insurance. She is supposed to call me back today and let me know if she was able to cancel it.
I don't know why I get so stupid when I go to any kind of doctor lately.
Chelsea and Brianna - Um, me too. I'm not sure how lucrative the calendar industry is, but I'd say you should sell some of those photos... or publish your own calendar. Wow...gorgeous.
My doctor talked me in to HD contacts and I felt like I was on LSD when I was driving home from their office. Everything was so bright and crisp and the colors were so rich. I seriously nearly swerved off the road when I saw the wind blowing through a tree and caught the individual movement of the leaves out of the corner of my eye. I still have a slight blur in one of my eyes but I do enjoy the crispness overall.
Brianna, Why aren't you on gchat?
Summer - I'm sorry they are doing that! I can't believe someone was able to use your ID like that. I decided I'm done with UTA. They wouldn't take a bunch of my credits and I just at this point can't picture going back to school for another 4 years. I already have two mastersa and I'm going to give it a little longer to see if I can work with just those two.
Leslie - I would love to try those! They sound amazing.

Have you looked into Texas Womens? A couple of my friends tried UTA and got so frustrated they applied for the program at Women's and have enjoyed it so much more.
Leslie,
You're right that there's nothing you can do to prove you didn't check the books out, but you should talk to someone in the architecture library and see if they take pity on you. My former supervisor at work would reduce fines on a regular basis, and often forgive them completely. I can't guarantee that they'll believe your story, but if you explain that your major is not and has never been architecture, and you've never been to that library, you might be able to plead your case. Sorry that happened! It seems stupid that someone would use someone else's library account, but it does happen.
ETA: P.S. I'm surprised they released your grades from last semester with a fine that high!
We found a house! Yay!
So now that my job is completed, I'm looking for other ways to fill my time. Already looking into taking an upholstery class (I refinish old furniture on the side) and a photography class (I want to take pretty pictures)
That is all for now.
Chelsea, I just looked at the blog, and wow! I want to go back. This weekend is out 1 yr anniversary, and we were in Maui for our honeymoon. You are definitely making me miss it! Also, I LOVED the dress with the white top and floral print skirt. It looked so cute on you!
Leslie and DFW - Different issues, but I'm sorry that both of you are having trouble with UTA. That stinks.
Brianna - I'm with you on being tired, but am going to add hot into the mix.
"I'm tired of being tired and hot!"

Leslie - I'm going to say ditto to Anna's post. I used to work at the medical school library when I was in college and my boss would do the same thing. Just make sure you talk to the boss and not the student assistants at the front desk.
Also, what are HD contacts? I'm intrigued!

Thank you! That dress was actually from Wet Seal, which is crazy because I'm pretty curvy and their stuff never fits me. Mack actually picked it out for me all on his own!
And thanks Brianna & Tiffany, too! It's nice to have a little audience for the pictures we take on vacation... makes it worth the time we spend on them.
I think I have lost my phone. It's not in my purse, not at home, not in the car and not at work, which was my last guess. Oooppss. BTW, if I have actually lost it rather than misplaced it temporarily, this was not done on purpose so that I could get a new phone, fyi.
That's brave of you. I've been scared to make lasagna because everyone tells me it is so hard to make!

I just looked at your photos -- amazing!!! I actually got goosebumps at the photo of the green church.
Seeing your photos is exactly why I want to take photography classes. I want to be able to document my travels like that!!!
Great job!
I am the same way; I much prefer email but ended up calling people yesterday because they hadn't responded to emails the day before. I surprised myself!
RE the blog: all I see is the blog from yesterday. What am I missing?
ETA: NM the blog, I searched by category and it came up.
Verizon's (home service) customer service BLOWS.
After 4 reps, and explaining my billing issue 4 times, and almost cursing someone out 4 times... I'm attempting to handle my issue via chat service.
If this doesn't work, I'm emailing the VP and every higher-up I can find. Don't.tempt.me.

Welcome to my nightmare. You will probably find chat service to be much more helpful.
I have to contact them every month to adjust my bill by over $40... and they would only do so because I printed my confirmations on what I agreed to. It took 2 full days to find someone that could help us.
It's beyond ridiculous.
Definitely take classes if you can! We're self-taught, but for a hobbyist it can be much easier to take a crash course. My best advice is to buy an entry-level DSLR and memorize the manual. Obviously, gear makes a huge difference, or it wouldn't be worth the investment we've made in it. But the truth is that for just taking photos of your life, the best thing you can possibly do is learn to get the most out of whatever camera you're using. It takes practice, but can make all the difference in the quality of your personal pictures!!
Trust me I heard the same thing, but I just followed the recipe and it turned out fine. According to my sometime way to nice husband. I'll have to make it again and give it to a more non bias audience.

I found some classes at The Spot Studio. Honestly, I just don't have the patience to try to teach myself -- I learn better when someone explains things to me
Thanks again for the encouragement!
