Since Jess asked in a prior post, I'm throwing it out there for all as I am in dire need of non baby related reading suggestions.
I read Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me and it was hilarious, as to be expected. I just got wind that Rob Lowe's bio is ready for pick up at the library for me so I am hoping to grab that this week.
Re: What are you reading?
I just finished Italian For Beginners. It was a quick, easy chick-lit read that I enjoyed, especially because most of the story was set in Rome.
I've just started The Postmistress - it takes place during WWII.

Agreed!
I've recently started reading "Before I Go To Sleep", and I'm really enjoying it.
just about to finish the steig larsson trilogy (the girl who...) about a year later than the rest of the world. i wasn't buying the hype but they are good.
up next is tina fey- bossypants.
after that is a few non-fiction, work related books. how the end begins- rosenbaum and fallout- collins and frantz
I just read that a few weeks ago too. I liked it. Right now I'm reading Bossypants by Tina Fey.
I am reading Bossypants right now too! It is good, but I had just finished Chelsea Handler's Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea and that was so hilarious, I wonder if it making Tina Fey seem not as funny?
After Bossypants is Hunger Games

Erin, I have not yet touched the Steig Larsson trilogy - I was saving them for the fall/winter.

I am currently reading Last Night at Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger (who wrote The Devil Wears Prada).
I just finished Save Me by Lisa Scottoline. It was ok- a little far fetched.
Next up, I would like to read The Paris Wife and Jennifer Weiner's new one (forget the name)
Jen- What do you think of The Postmistress so far? I've already read it and don't want to spoil it for you, but I am curious as to what others think.
I read this earlier this year and I thought it was interesting but I did not expect to be that depressed after reading it.
I am currently racing through the Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I love it!
Up next I want to start the Game of Thrones series, but I may put that off in favor of the Steig Larsson series for vacation.
I had high expectations for Bossypants and it's funny, but not quite as funny as I thought. Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea had me cracking up the whole book.
Yes it was quite intense to say the least.
I only read the first chapter so I have yet to make an opinion.

I accidentally packed the pile of books that I haven't read yet, so I'm using the Kindle exclusively until we move somewhere and unpack. I was in the mood for a very light read, so I went with the latest "Shopaholic" book, Mini Shopaholic. It's silly and fun.
I recently read The Hunger Games trilogy and really enjoyed it.
Did you like the most recent one, Heart of the Matter I think? I thought it was terrible and I'm usually a fan of her books as well!
Over the weekend, I just finished Bossypants and A Stolen Life, the book by Jaycee Dugard.
A Stolen Life was so effing depressing that I was a jerk to everyone for like 2 days until I could get over it, so I think I'm going to read something light next.
I'm thinking one of the next Sookie Stackhouse books I haven't read, maybe book 4? I'm way behind on that series.
eh...the previous ones were definitely better - i think i was just happy she had another book out. i think her first 3 were the best.
I have sookie books! Let me know next time I see you if you want.
Really? Sweet! I think I have book 4 and then I have like book 8. Then like 11 & 12. My collection is very sporadic. Not to mention I just got a kindle and am kind of obsessed with reading on it, so I haven't wanted to touch my paperbacks since then.
In a moment of weakness (or over tiredness) I bought Gilbert Gottfried's "Rubber Balls and Liquor" - sometimes I want to kick myself for buying it. Sometimes I laugh out loud.
I might try "The Help" next. We'll see.
My little nuggets
I just read through the Hunger Games trilogy. When I got a few chapters into the first book I was like "How can I read this? How horrible!" but I kept going and found that I couldn't quite put it down. I don't know, there was something different about the character development then I've read before. Col - I have the series in digital form if you can read it on your phone?
I did NOT like The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I could never pick up the rest of the series. That author is LONG WINDED about inconsequential details.
I LOVED The Help. Like dot my "i's" with hearts loved it.
Now I'm reading Something Borrowed on my iTouch. Let me tell you how fun it is to swipe the screen after almost every paragraph. : But it will be great for the hospital or late night feedings.
On my list: Bossypants, Jen Lancaster's novel and a few David Sedaris books.
This made me laugh. It took me 3 weeks to get through the first 200 pages of TGWTDT but after that, I speed read through the other books in the series. I can't wait for the movie in December.
I have to ditto this. And I think the casting for the movie looks to be pretty great. I love Viola Davis.
i finished the hunger games and liked them, but thought they could have been much shorter.
loved bossypants.
i'm reading the paris wife now and its kinda trashy and she's kinda pathetic but its not a bad book.
Thanks mir, but I am firmly entrenched in the "actual book" camp. I can't even read news online so I would spoon my eyes out reading a book on my phone
I also don't get the Kindle/Nook thing. Why not just get an iPad? I know it's more expensive, but it just seems like a much better investment long-term

I have both, so I'll butt in here. I love my iPad, but the Kindle is MUCH better for reading on. The iPad is like reading on a computer, while the Kindle (and I assume the Nook) really does mimic reading an actual book, in the screen appearance. Plus, no glare on the Kindle.
I'm a Kindle person and I'll ditto JessH. Why not the iPad because who wants to read on a computer screen when you can read a digital book that looks like a real book. The Nook Color is like a computer screen too but not sure what the non color one looks like.
