DOTD - Thursday

it's gonna be a bear of a day, I fear -- or maybe that's just bc I have a 3:30-5 conference call to "look forward" to (no wine this time, dammit)...

so today's DOTD is: "If you were hired to write a new instructional book, "_____ For Dummies," what topic would you write about?"

Hmm.... personally, my easy answer would something about organizing, probably. Or parenting - not bc I consider myself to be an expert on it, by any means, but bc I survived it. Ten years as a single parent, including those lovely teenage years with my son, probably qualifies me for something (hazardous pay?).

Work-related, I could write a book about what I do every day and barely skim the surface.. not sure what that title would be, though...or who would be deranged enough to buy it.

Go! (bc sometimes it's easier for me after I've seen how you guys read and respond to these questions!)

Re: DOTD - Thursday

  • That is a really interesting question! I honestly don't think I do any one thing well enough to write about it, except a particular work task: "How to Write Engaging Image Captions in 50 Words or Less". That one would just fly off the shelves, especially since the title itself is so concise.

Maybe "Raising the Blender-obsessed Child" would be more popular?

  • If you were hired to write a new instructional book, "_____ For Dummies," what topic would you write about?

Proofreading, for sure. I have SO much copy come across my desk that the author has not taken two seconds to proofread! Angry

  • Orrrr "How to Look Your Fattest in Photos"! I'm super good at that!
  • maybe gardening? i don't feel like an expert...i know just enough to be dangerous!  ;)

i could also probably do one on BBC detective/mystery dramas of the late `1990s to today as well.

  • that is a tough one!

other than "surviving horrible bosses/management with wine & snarky co-workers for dummies" i'm drawing a blank. and i'm certain no one needs a book to tell them that ;)

i also think a chapter on destroying/deleting photos is key. i've ripped bad photos of me up into little pieces.

WNW - I own every season on DVD. They used to belong to my daughter; I took them. I will watch the show whenever I happen upon it on TV, too. I hate the April (Luke's daughter) storyline, though... will skim past those.

True (or sad? you decide) fact: when we were renovating our kitchen a few years ago, I desperately wanted to have a coffee cup storage wall like in the diner. If I hadn't said it was on GG, John may have gone for it -- but he HATES GG. With a passion. So I lost. Now we have a stupid cupboard like everyone else.

I used to watch GG reruns on ABC Family almost every day at 5 pm. But now they've changed their TV lineup and they're not showing GG anymore. Crying  I need my fix! I agree about the April and Luke storyline. I also hated the Lorelei-marries-Christopher debacle, but didn't everyone hate that?

My husband actually doesn't mind GG. I don't think he'd ever admit to liking it, but I'm pretty sure he's willingly seen almost every episode.
