1st of all, the BEST part of a potluck (outside of the company) is the clean up. It's so nice to have a party and not have 50million dishes to wash afterward!
I had a great time and really appreciate everyone's patience with my crappy a/c. Hopefully the guys fixed it and we'll have cooler temps in the house tonight!
The basic consensus was "We should do this more often." I totally agree and was wondering if we should calendar a couple future dates, maybe one Saturday and one Sunday in the next few months? WDYT?
Re: Foodie GTG recap!
I am in, I am happy to host a future date.
Thanks so much for hosting!
So Tasty, So Yummy
Thanks for hosting!
I can host one too, perhaps the one after pagas. I need more motivation, or I will just have to let everyone know that we weren't the ones who touched up all the paint with the wrong paint colors!
Recipes??
Here is the link to my tart: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2010/05/french-tomato-tart-recipe/
Definitely thanks for hosting - it was a good time. Lots of fantastic eats. I think I need to start Weight Watchers again, though. I'd be happy to host a non-kiddo party. We don't have a kid-friendly house. No doubt they would be bored to tears here.
Here is a link to the sausage bread: http://foodblogga.blogspot.com/2010/03/italian-sausage-bread-recipe-for-easter.html
I modified it slightly by adding sage. I think next time I will use less filling so I can wrap the bread around it more. I actually used to have another sausage bread recipe, but couldn't find it. I think I like the one from the foodblogga more.
Click it if you can't say it!
I am 100% for sure doing the cookie exchange again this year. We can turn this into the Foodie GTG if we want, but I plan to invite a few non nesties too
I'm so sad I missed it. We didn't go to bed until close to 4 AM. I was just too tired.
Even though my cookie situation was a hot mess last year, the exchange was a lot of fun! I am already looking forward to this year's
What about if we shoot for every 2 mos? PAGAS can host in October and then Brandi in December for the xchange? How does that sound?
I'm so sad I missed it! But, I'm glad to hear that another one is around the corner!
DH has been begging for a date, and this afternoon worked best for us and MIL.
October works, as long as it isn't a UH home game
So Tasty, So Yummy
I liked your Festivus balls last year.
I also think that's a great idea. Today was a lot of fun, thanks for hosting!
I would hate for you to miss out on that fun company and all...and TAP OUT!
PAGAS, Brandi and then melrrr?
I wish I could have mad it! No time at all to cook yesterday and DD has been a teething hot mess today.
But I'm definitely up for future ones
Don't you mean hot potato?!? Thanks for hosting V! It was a great time as usual. I'm looking forward to the next one!
The "hot potato" was damn good!!!
It was a great time! The link to the Banana Cream Pie Cupcake recipe:

I managed to make it with an infant, a toddler, a dish to pass AND I drove in from the 'burbs. It's not that hard. Wait until you have a kid that moves, their main purpose is to try to make sure you never leave the house on time for anything.
double
along with a dose of
and a dash of
but mostly
ok... that's fantastic! ha ha ha ha ha ha
well now i feel like a giant doofus. i didn't even have ANY kids holding me back... yet i still couldn't get it together enough to plan, go to the grocery store, make some kind of dish on time, and get myself out of the house.
can i blame it on my dog?

No way, Jose!
but when he whimpers and throws his little green ball at me... it's hard to resist!
