Re: Poll: Brand Loyalty
I never would have thought so many people were so loyal to ketchup! I just buy HEB brand.
I am mainly brand loyal to my makeup because I have sensitive skin. I only use Laura Mercier for my face and Lancome for mascara.
For groceries:
Cascade packets
Avalon Organics body and face wash
double stuffed Oreos
land o lakes butter in the tub w/ the canola oil
Thomas english muffins - none are even close to as good.
King Arthur Flour
I dont even know the brand but the tortilla chips that come in the big clear bag with a white label (El Milagro, I think?)
Whatever name brand toilet paper that is on sale that week, I wont ever buy generic.
Let's see...
Heinz (a DH request...I would buy whatever the hell is on sale, but I think I bought Hunt's once on sale/with coupons and he flipped out).
Dr. Pepper products...regular for DH and Diet for me. No substitutes there.
I was "loyal" to both Huggies and Pampers. For some reason, I just never tried the store brand diapers...probably because I could usually get diaps/pull-ups for pretty good prices w/ sales and coupons?
Charlotte's yogurt...I buy her the organic yogurt tubes (can't think of the brand right now).
That's about all I can think of right now. I am not brand loyal really at all. Even with toilet paper/paper towels. I mean, I won't buy sandpaper TP, but I'm pretty easy to please otherwise. If I can get it on sale and with coupons, I'll buy just about anything.
For most things, I buy based on coupons & sales.
DH only uses Right Guard deoderant and I only use Dove. I also only buy Tampax tampons.
If I'm making rice crispies, I only buy the name brand marshmallows & cereal. The others don't taste right.
DH is really the pain in my couponing butt about brands. He has to use Sensodyne toothpaste (which, I use if I can get it cheap, but I'll use pretty much anything if I can get it free/super cheap), Old Spice deodorant (and it HAS to be a particular scent...grrrr), and there are other things that he refuses on which to compromise. Chaps my hide because I hate spending unnecessary money, LOL.
Tide detergent
Downy fabric softener
Bounce dryer sheet (yes, I use liquid FS and dryer sheets)
King Arthur Flour
Imperial Sugar - this is a MAJOR one
Dove soap & deodorant
Cascade
Dawn
Coca Cola
So true!
This posts makes me realize how brand loyal I used to be. And how I'm not so much these days. I'm fairly brand loyal for detergents that I use or that Tracey use, but I'm more flexible on the stuff I buy for rrr. I think a lot of this is due to my couponing that I've only done for the past few years.
I think the only thing I'm completely loyal to is Kleenex ultra soft.
For paper towels and toilet paper I have brands I prefer, but will choose certain store brands--especially for paper towels.
Cereals: certain I will only buy name brand, and others only come in a name brand, but I buy generic grape nuts.
tampons: I was OB-only for years. Then I had a kid and they stopped working for me. I then branched out, and will use absolutely anything if I can get a deal. my last were cvs brand because I didn't have any good coupons and I couldn't bring myself to spend more!
I do stick to king arthur flour.
I'm not even OJ-loyal anymore, as long as it's the not from concentrate especially since I recently learned that the OJ you buy is not really 100% natural. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/29/100-percent-orange-juice-artificial_n_913395.html
