Re: Those in Irene's path
We are still good to go. Got everyone showered. Power went out a few times overnight, but even our Dish is working now (?). Wind comes in huge waves and then it goes back to just raining. Storm isn't expected to actually "hit" until after 10 though. I'm glad we came home to the "city" -- less trees!
My parents' nextdoor neighbor is in the hospital with Lyme Disease and they watched a tree fall on his car this morning

I know who I get my health advice from!
What are you looking at?
We have lots of rain and wind in pretty large gusts, but nothing too bad. Some trees down, but it isn't as bad as other places. We still have a few hours before everything dies down. I think the wind is supposed to last into the evening.
We made it through the storm unscathed. Our neighbor lost a tree but it fell into the woods. We are in the lucky 25% of central Virginian's to still have power.
My sister is headed over to get the dogs and we are going to take them back to my parents house and check out the situation over there. They went out of town to celebrate my dad's birthday - I hope they don't come home to a mess.
