Hey all, so yesterday was a semi-surprise holiday (we only get a day off for Eid here and just found out the day before), so I wasn't online much. Today is just catching up at work and then going to the gym. What's everyone else up to?
QOTD: Inspired by yesterday's post...what would you be right now if you were doing what your 10 or 12 year old self wanted to do?
****
I liked yesterday's question, so I'm gonna answer that one, too. I'd be living in Ireland while the first love works on his PhD at Trinity College. He is brilliant and travels a lot to study things I don't understand (something to do with measuring sea levels). So that all sounds good, except that he is way too granola and cheap for me and doesn't like spending money on anything. Even things like heat during the winter. I think I'd have spent my life feeling guilty for wanting mani/pedis and stuff like that.
QOTD: An anesthesiologist. For some reason I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Of course I later realized I didn't like math or science, so it wasn't really the way to go for me.
Re: Morning everyone!
Good morning!
I'm in small town Madrid for a teacher training conference. They put us up in a university dorm and it's the first day I've genuinely slept well since the wedding/moving in to the new place. That, and we have internet here! Woohoo!
QOTD: A meteorologist. I've always been fascinated by the weather. Unfortunately, I'm no good at math or other sciences, so that dream went out the window.
Morning!
We got back from Thailand last night and hoping to get some grocery shopping done today so we have food in the house instead of going out to eat. Might see a movie later as well.
QOTD: An actress or a pediatric endocrinologist. Opposite sides of the spectrum and neither worked out. :P
Good morning. My parents leave today after being here for 2 weeks. It's been great, and I loved spending time with them, but I am somewhat looking forward to having our flat back and getting some alone time!
QOTD: A veterinarian. I loved animals and thought it would be cool to work with them. Until I realized I was way too squeamish for that.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
Hi. Does anyone know where Just Peachy's been? I've been thinking about her and don't know if I'm just missing her posts, or something else.
I have great plans today to chase my little one around the house, take long naps, figure out dinner (I've been so bored with most of my meals that I've been opening my cookbooks and trying new recipes) and read more of the book I'm reading.
QOTD: When I was that age I really wanted to be an astronaut. The second thing I always pictured as an alternative was working in Tokyo. I wanted a high-power job, wearing expensive suits and carrying a briefcase. I think I wanted to work for Sony specifically.
Good morning!! It's afternoon here on a gorgeous day and I just got a call with a job offer. Full time, legal secretary/receptionist in a small office.
QOTD: I wanted to own a ski resort or B&B in South Dakota. I had never been to SD, and still have never been but I just knew that running a resort there would be the perfect life for me. Maybe it was Newart that gave me the idea, I do not know, but I clung to that dream through college, right up until I started a second degree program in hotel/restaurant management. Then I decided it was not for me.
Hey ladies. Another day at work and it's just getting more and more awful... I'm counting the days until I'm out of this office, but getting sad thinking about leaving the friends I've made in Cambodia.
QOTD: A singer, professionally. I am in a band here... so I guess I'm living the dream?
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Good morning everyone!
I am working all day, then going to pick my mom up from the airport tonight. She has been in India for 3 weeks now, but I still haven't seen here since I was off travelling for work. I'm excited to spend the weekend with her.
QOTD: I would be a doctor if I had followed through with 10-12 year old me's dreams. As I got older, I realized that I was much better at math and physics than I was at chemistry and biology so I ended up becoming a mechanical engineer. Now I'm not doing either profession. Go figure.

Good Morning! I'm babysitting this afternoon and running later tonight.
QOTD: A meteorologist, I did actually get a degree in Geography with an emphasis in meteorology, but have never used it.
Morning. Congrats Dorothy!
Today is just a normal day. I feel like I say that a lot!
QOTD: You guys all had high powered dreams at a young age! I'm pretty sure I just wanted to train dolphins at Sea World.
Morning ladies! I've been MIA the past few days, as I've been in England for work. But, I'm back now! Today is a mixed bag: working, violin lesson, small errands, picking up DH at the train station when he gets back from England, and a small grocery run, then packing! We leave for our cruise tomorrow!!
QOTD: If I were doing what I dreamed of at 10, I'd be practicing my routines for the 2012 Olympics! Yep...I wanted to be an Olympic gymnast. Definitely not gonna happen.
Morning, yay for job offers!
My FIL leave today. I have had a lot of fun with him, but I am so tired and ready to have our place back to normal.
I also have a doctors appointment this morning.
QOTD: A vet too! For the same reasons as discussed, I went a different route because I realised I couldn't put animals to sleep or deal with blood.
I think she's been travelling stateside.
Congrats on the job offer Dorothy!
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
Morning! I'm walking 2 miles to the clinic with William for his 1 year old shots. Fun times.
QOTD: I really don't remember what I thought I wanted to do 18 YEARS ago. I'm pretty positive I wanted to be a vet, though.
At work, with plans to go out to dinner tonight with inlaws.
QOTD: I would have been a fashion designer. My grandmother was an artist and really encouraged me to draw. I loved the 80s fashion, but couldn't afford much, so I drew a lot, focusing on what I would want. Interestingly enough, it tended to be a lot of dresses, tops with leggings, which is what I enjoy wearing now. I wish I had continued taking art in high school instead of being so academically focused (and pushed in that direction), though I do love what I'm doing now.
Morning ladies!
I'm waiting for M to wake up from her nap (no rush though!) and then we're off to town for lunch with friends at soft play, and some shopping errands. Just soooo nice to get out of the house, I don't care that it's cool and cloudy.
QOTD: An architect! I really wanted to be an architect until I realised how much engineering it was, and how narrow-focused you neededto be at college (which I wasnt' ready for). So I ended up with a PhD in history and a sahm. Go figure.
Thanks for the update!
You're in Madrid? We shoulda planned a time to meet up! I guess you'll be pretty busy with a conference going on though.
Morning everyone! Just doing some housework today and taking it easy.
QOTD: I'd still be studying to be a veterinarian. I thought working with animals would be so great, but I'm not very good at science so that dream faded when I was in high school.
Morning! I wish I had something fun today, but it was the same boring stuff. Work, ,nap, cook dinner, rinse and repeat in the AM.
QOTD: My 12 year old self was going to join the Ice Capades. I was skating everyday and totally could have done it. Unfortunately my 14 year old self learned that I would have to keep training for the next 4 years, even though I didn't really need to be above the level that I was at for the show. 14 year old self realized this was a huge waste of money, time and effort.
Morning!
Congrats Dorothy.
I should be getting ready for my trip home. I guess we will see how the day goes.
QOTD: A travel agent but then I realized that itI wouldnt be that great to help plan trips for other people.
Good morning. I'm still unemployed and it's boring and I'm getting really anxious about it. Other than that, nothing new.
QOTD: I would be playing in the NHL. Ah the lofty dreams of a 10 year old.
No exciting plans. My to-do list is still smothering me!
Cheers to the job offer, dorothy!
QOTD: architectural engineer
Good morning! I am absolutely bound and determined to make it to the gym today, after months off. I was doing okay over the summer jogging outside and then I hurt my ankle and got pregnant and it's all gone wrong! I will, will, will conquer the exhaustion tonight and do something active!
QODT: I wanted to be a teacher for probably 15 years and then it all got derailed. I'm still sorry I didn't go that route sometimes.
BFP Apr 2012, EDD Dec 19 2012 * twin h/b at 6wk, 9wk scan * Baby A lost at 12wks, Baby B was my rainbow born at 36wks
Morning, I need to run to the store for some lasagna noodles I forgot yesterday. Not very exciting but maybe I'll throw in some shopping for fun.
QOTD: I wanted to either be a teacher or a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, haha!
DH and I took D swimming this morning. It was loads of fun to have a morning out just as a family. Later is just the usual stuff.
QOTD: I wanted to be a wedding/event planner. Sometimes I still want to do it, then I look back at how exhausting it was to help organize my brother and SIL's wedding.
Ha ha. At one point (I think it was around 1st grade) I wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. I wonder why that team specifcally? So weird.
Yep, she was stateside for the month of August (and Ramadan, lucky girl)! She should be back this weekend! I think she's also been swamped at work, which doesn't leave much time for nesting :-(

Late to this, and it's no longer morning here but wanted to say hi! I spent the morning shopping with a friend, but didn't buy much for myself, since I've placed some orders online. My friend found some cute stuff though, so it was nice to help her shop!
Now we're heading to happy hour shortly! Hooray for Eid and the bars opening again!
QOTD: At 10-12, I totally thought I would be on Broadway, doing musical theatre. At some point, I realized I'd be waitressing while waiting to be discovered, and it just didn't seem like the most practical career.

Morning, ladies! First morning of vacation and I'm just so happy
Today is a Me day. I bought a journal not too long ago and have started writing again...first time in a long time. Gearing up for some errand-running and then a trek to Orlando for some shopping and a pedicure.
QOTD: Around that age, I was hooked on playing softball and wanted to the first woman to officially play in the MLB. 'A League of Their Own' was one of my fave movies. Soon after I got out of that, I wanted to be a foreign exchange trader. Still kinda do.
QOTD: Inspired by yesterday's post...what would you be right now if you were doing what your 10 or 12 year old self wanted to do?
QOTD: I'd be an architect or a figure skater.
Definitely for the outfit! Thank goodness that never happened!
