ten days off was glorious. 7 of those days in KW were PERFECT. i woke, ran, went to the beach only to return home for lunch, a brief stint in some AC and then spent the afternoon out by the pool until 5 pm when i would add a cocktail to the mix. followed by a delicious dinner every night. this was repeated 7 days in a row. i read 4 books. and gained minimal weight (my jeans still fit!)
came home to a great wedding (so fun, so exhausted!), and some awful destruction. we finally were able to see what the flood really did to our state. so fortunate we live up on a hill!
catching up on work, but will try to blog an update of the last ten days.
it was so hard to wake up this morning and come in to work. i was born to live the easy life and constantly be on vacation...
Re: it's monday and I hate it
Welcome back, Shauni! Sounds like you had a fabulous time w/ Lia in KW - Yes, I am very jealous.
Spend Saturday w/ my BFF and had some much needed girl time. Put Baby Q to bed when we got home and then vegged out on the couch with DH and chinese food.
Sunday we went to a crappy car show at Mt Airy Casino - the website promised thousands of cars...there were about 50. There was a rat rod which was neat and also a magenta coffin that they had thrown an engine and a seat in. It was a show piece done by a custom car shop but by far one of the coolest things I had ever seen. We also went to the outlets (at DH's request), and while we were there I hit the Coach store. Brew is a bad influence.
5 more days til the weekend...
Welcome back shauni!
soo....I had a fun weekend.
I'll just give the cliff notes and not bore you with details.
1. Went to my friend's 2nd bachelorette party. Being a bridesmaid is hard work!
2. Like a moron, didn't eat all day and then had four alcoholic beverages.
3. Came home, passed out for half hour. Woke up, walked over to my bedside table, knocked the LCD TV off, pulled out the drawer with all my important docs (i.e passport, birth, marriage cert etc), then proceeded to squat and then pee in the drawer.
4. Chris who witnessed all of this, freaked out and cleaned it up, but got me safely back to bed.
5. An hour later I woke up, went to the bathroom, got papertowels in hand, but then went to the hallway closet, squatted then peed again. Chris cleaned this up too. Apparently I told him it was his fault and that I wasn't going to clean it up.
6. Mango, our new two year boxer doggie, having witnessed mummy marking the closet, figured he would mark the closet too.
Yup....the above is all true an an abbreviated version of sat night's excitment. I even left off the near death experience part.

WB Shauni! Glad you had an awesome vacay!
This weekend J's grandparents came up. I cooked a lot and actually fixed stuff they liked (his grandma is super picky). Score! We hit up some yard sales Saturday morning and I found some old 45s to hang from the ceiling for mama's party, hit up goodwill and found an awesome mirror plus some more old records so I can melt into a couple more bowls (score another for finding a "Grease" record too).
Yesterday, we hit up the flea market and found a 1940s all cedar hope chest in near mint condition, $70 bucks, score!
Now if only my Cowboys could've pulled out a win...oh well.
Happy Monday (??)
Diablesse- Thats great! I'm glad you had a good time and made me lol on this dreadful monday morning.
Shauni- Glad you had fun in KW!
I had a pretty relaxing weekend. I worked Saturday and since it was the first busy football Saturday I went home and could barely walk all night. So we stayed in even though we had baseball tickets.
Yesterday, I ran some errand in the morning and pretty much spend the day hanging around while Greg worked. Then I couldn't sleep last, so I went to Starbucks this morning and my drink is already gone so I am sad and still very sleepy.
Tonight we are going out and watching a little MNF with the Patriots.
Diablesse- Freakin hilarious! so how were you feeling the next day?!?!
Was a nice weekend for the most part. Got into it with J because the only time I got to see him was last night for about 3 hours before bed. Went off on him like a crazy hormonal woman that I am. Told him if he even thinks that he is going hunting next weekend, then he needs to find somewhere else to stay. Also layed into him about his lack of regard for my time and only gives a S**t about his own. Then proceeded to watch tv in the bedroom b/c I told him if I saw him, i was going to go off on him so he needed to get out of my face. Which he actually did. Then this morning he proceeded to be an complete a$$ again probably b/c he's tired. So it'll be an interesting time when I get home.
On a happier, Martha stewart type note, I went and got fabric to make quilt, lampshade (not making, just covering one), pillows, and crib skirt for Baby E. Excited to get started on that.
hahaha Moleson, you were really laying down the law. Good for you!
I was not a happy camper yesterday, but I've definitely had way worse hangovers. I think I was hit hard the night before because I didn't eat all day. I didn't even have a cracker. Nothing. I had a lobster mac and cheese when i started drinking, but evidently, it wasn't enough.

Shauni I am glad you had a blast! and boo for work after vaca :-(
Alicia you are amazing! I thought my wine incident was good...nope you beat me.
Hi everybody!
Oh dia! You are a marauding pee-er!
I went to a wedding back in May in OH, where H and I only knew one other couple aside from the bride and groom. The girl was a marauding pee-er. We went to the bathroom together at one point and she ended up peeing in the coat closet at this like exclusive yacht club. I just about died laughing and almost peed myself. Luckily, the bathroom was the next door down. Her boyf was like "Oops, I forgot to warn you!"
My weekend was pretty boring. Hung out with MOH for a bit on Saturday. H and I were just lazy bums yesterday. I did manage to do some cleaning.
Tonight, I have a call with a client in Australia at 7PM and a soccer game at 9PM, so it's going to be fun, fun, fun!
And I have an appt for a hair cut tomorrow and I'm super excited!
The Princess of Anything is Coming!
Had a dream I was queen.
Woke up. Still queen.
dia, i just peed a little laughing at that. not really, but almost.
also, i forgot my breakfast. i am SO hungry. i have already had my two morning snacks (grapes and a cheese stick) and i refuse to eat my lunch or afternoon snacks yet. i want to give it 35 minutes and i will give in and eat my salad. but holy hell, i'm starving.
welcome back to reality, shaunette!
Blog
I think I scared him more, b/c I wasn't yelling at him. I stayed calm the entire time...... which i think scared him more!
Welcome back Shauni. Loved the new blog. I posted my pre-vacation one today. http://weinerwhistle.blogspot.com/2011/09/serenity-now.html
Weekend was ok. I cleaned, did a lot of laundry, worked a lot, met Laura's new boyfriend, had friends over for dinner Saturday. A friend of ours threw himself in front of a train late Saturday night, and between that and 9/11 yesterday and my bank taking $330 out they shouldn't have and fighting with them about it, I cried a lot yesterday. wah wah wah And I got very little sleep since Geege was up in the bedroom barking at the rain. He couldn't do this in the basement where MFD was watching Forrest Gump into the wee hours. Of course not.
So today I'm tired. Trying to push through and get everything done.
Oh Alicia, that is all totally awful but also as someone who did not do it or have to clean it up, hilarious. My oldest friend in the world (we've been friends since I was three, so for going on 32 years) is a drunk pisser if she doesn't eat and has too much. Oh, the stories. She once peed in her parents' bedroom while they were sleeping.
Shauni - welcome back! And thanks for making some of us jealous with your random paradise pics :-)
Diablesse - are you sure your drinks weren't laced with anything? Wow, what a weekend you had. A few years ago, my BFF's then boyfriend had his beer laced and he woke up from sleeping, went downstairs to their office and peed on the computer keyboard.
My weekend was kind of dull - ran both days but my hamstring was pulling on me yesterday so instead of the intended 7, I ran about 4.25 miles, meh. I also took the dog to a training class Saturday and hit up the farmers market for some fresh eggs and bought kettle corn for a friend of mine. Went to friends (kettle corn girl) barrel race that she organizes and runs and she confessed that she wanted kettle corn and was craving it since she is12 weeks preggers. I'm very happy for her since I thought she was 1 and done type of lady. Today is my only day of work and then I'm on vacation. DH and I leave for Disneyland tomorrow evening after he gets off work. I'm excited, wwwwhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Morning! Weekend felt long because we didn't have much planned, which was nice. H put the crib together on Sat (I'll add the photo), then we went to downtown Sac for 2nd Saturday that night and had a nice dinner out and strolling with my bridesman and his gf. Sunday we really really just vegged and watched football. My back's been killing me lately, so I just nursed it.
Tonight we've got our first baby class. This is the start of the 4-week series that I think focuses just on childbirth. We've also got other classes like breastfeeding (called A Moveable Feast, which is pretty cute) and anesthesia options, but this is the first of the first. But yuck, it's 3 hours long!
Shauni - welcome back! Your vacation sounds lovely, glad you had a good time.
Steph - that's terrible about the friend (friend of a friend?). Rough rough rough. On a brighter note, I stalked your wedding photos, and I think I want to go to any party you host in the future. Holy cow, woman, your wedding looked like so much fun!
Dia - that's hilarious! Glad Chris cleaned it all up. Pics of the pup!
Good Morning!
Dia-Loved your story! I don't think I've gotten that bad in a LONG time. But at least you (hopefully) had fun at the bachelorette party. And what a sweet husband you have cleaning up for your. LOVE
Shauni-Sorry about the whole back in the real world thing. Your vacay sounds awesome! I want to sit on the beach in KW for 7 days straight! Oh the relaxation you must have felt....jealous.
My weekend kicked my a$$. We got up at 5am Sat to do the mud run up north. I think that was the most brutal run I've even experienced. Made it back to watch the Ducks (we recorded it) beat down on Nevada. Then got up early again on Sunday to run the WC 5K, then over to SIL to watch the Niners game to come home and do chores! Yay!
I can't believe it's already Monday.
Good Morning!
This weekend also kicked my ass. Friday night I went to my nephews' football game, they won and both played awesome. Such a proud aunt.
Saturday I was covering a shift for someone during the day and then the bartender called in sick for the night so I ended up working that shift too. I was at work from 10:45am - 12:40am, it sucked, but my bank account is happy. Yesterday DH and I enjoyed the beautiful weather with a 4 mile walk and lounging in the sun before we both worked.
Today I am making applesauce, cardamon bread, and something with plums, then of course working tonight.
Mush - you are welcome at any party I throw, we always have a great time. Our wedding was no exception!
Paul was a friend. He's been a friend of MFD's for 18 years, and of mine for about 8 or 9. He's pulled away recently. Sad all around. This is actually the third old friend of MFD's this summer to kill themselves. It has just about destroyed my husband even though the first two he hasn't been close to in years. He can't understand why people would do that, and I can't help him because I don't understand it either.
omg, those other pee stories are cracking me up! on a keyboard? in the parent's room? closet at a yacht club? lolololol
Leo - Chris was also very concerned that someone slipped me something, but I think it was really just a lack of food. Also, I haven't been drinking at all lately. It must have been quick a shock to my system.
Here are the doggies - Apple and Mango

why, hello adorable little furry love bugs!
Follow up to my rant about J and his weekend behavior- I sent him a text saying that we're obviously having an "off" time lately and I think it's due to lack of quality time together. He wrote back and agreed and said that we are going to do something tonight just the two of us, and something other than watching "our shows" together.
Guess he might be a keeper after all!
awww....good for him

Apple and Mango are adorable, I love the little underbite?overbite? Apple's got going on. Lots of pugs have those, but not ours. MFD wishes they did.
He waltzed in Saturday and announced we were getting a free pug. I said UH, we're going on vacation for 10 days, and when we return Geege gets his teeth cleaned to the tune of $300+ depending on extractions so I think we could hold off on another dog.
Good lawd.
Super cute doggies!
And good for J for stepping up, I like it!
Steph - I'm so sorry that you and MFD are going through this spate of losses. Suicide is terrible, and the worst part is that when someone has a friend who commits suicide, they are more likely to do it themselves, like maybe it seems is the case with his old buddies. Very scary stuff.
This girl my sister was friends with in high school and who helped me my first year of law school (she was a 3rd year) was recently murdered by her boyfriend while on vacation in Maui. The stories are truly horrific, like he jumped into the ocean to avoid being caught and spent the night clutching a rock until they could rescue him. I'm just in total shock, as she was such a special person. And he, for christsake, worked for freaking Easter Seals and was described as a kind, gentle person. But who the hell does that?
Anyway, sorry, that has nothing to do with the price of cheese, but has been weighing on me.
What the $hit with the Maui murder? That is truly awful.
Could everyone on earth grow up and get over their crazy asss sh$t? Seriously.
The scary thing about the three suicides is that none of them know each other. One was a friend of ours from junior high and high school, one was MFD's friend from elementary school, and the other was an adult friend through stringbands. It's craziness.
crikey..this thread got depressing

Diablesse- thanks for sharing that with us. Makes me wonder about some drunken sh!t I may have done and still don't know about.
It's Monday. Swamped at work, dealing with nut jobs. Weekend was nice. Got a haircut with I HATE! It'll grow out soon enough. Can't wait for it to be Friday. Only a few more days and I'll be in paradise.
