Fashion chat, anyone?

What are you looking forward to wearing this fall?  I am excited to break out leggings and boots.  I bought some Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots, are these out already?  I am not sure if I am going to keep them or not.

Anyone else as excited as I am for the Missoni for Target?  I went to Target today to see if anything was out early, it wasn't.

I know this is all hard to think about since it is going to be 100 degrees today, but I am bored.

Re: Fashion chat, anyone?

  • I have to go Target later today for diapers and was hoping some of the Missoni stuff would be out a bit early.  Too bad it's not!  Oh well.

I love fall.  Last fall I was super pregnant and couldn't wear anything cute or fun so I am doubly looking forward to it this year!!

Things I am itching to wear:  tunics/leggings, red pants, and I really like some of the colored denim I have seen in the fahsion mags.  I love boots, too, but they never fit me right so this is usually a trend I have to skip.

  • riding boots. sweaters. leggings for sure. scarves.

i could go on. i wonder when it is going to cool off?

  • I cant wait to go to Target tomorrow and get some Missoni stuff.

I am also looking forward to leggings, boots and sweaters. I love wearing sweaters and coats and scarves.

  • Everything.  I have always preferred fall/winter clothing.

  • While I don't really keep up with the latest trends, I love the look of riding boots and started drooling over them last year. I was in Cole Haan outlet about a month ago and they had just put out the most beautiful pair of brown riding boots and for some bizarre reason I didn't buy them, even though the price was amazing..and I had a 20% off coupon (DOH). I need to go back and see if they are still there, but I don't want to be disappointed if they aren't.
  • I bought some over the knee boots too...and I'm nervous that I'll look like a fool in them.  I desperately need good leggings...any recommendations?

I'm looking forward to t-shirts, cardigans, leggings/jeans and boots!

I need a green purse, don't ask why, I just need green this year and I need leggings otherwise I think I'm set for fall.

  • I'm coveting some Frye boots in gray, but I haven't decided if they're going to be my big shoe purchase for fall or not...

If I get down to my goal weight, I am buying leather leggings to wear with boots and chunky tunic sweaters. I don't know how practical that is, but right now that is what I want as my reward. Not pleather or shiny vinyl. Real leather.

I am also looking forward to the Toms ballet flats. My Toms are a dressier style (a grosgrain fabric from NM's line) but I still don't wear them a ton. They are so comfy though! The new ballet flats may take the place of my Revas, which I am so sick of, for much less cash..

  • I can't wait to wear leggings and boots again, so I'm hoping this is still in but I have no idea.  I also got a new pair of awesome AG jeans that I need to get altered, pretty excited about wearing them.

I have a date with a girlfriend for Starbucks >  Missoni!!

  • I'd like to try red jeans! Can't wait for boots, leggings and scarves!

I even made a nice Indian curry in my slow cooker today, perfect for that Autumn feeling Wink With that, and bringing out my knitting tonight....I'm soo ready for cooler weather :)

  • I wish I could shop.

So this leggings thing that everyone is SO FREAKIN EXCITED ABOUT...is this comparable to the early-mid 90's trend of wearing big, long sweaters over stirrup-pants?

  • I am also sticking to leggings and tunics. I have some cute cord jeans that I'm excited to wear.

Awesome. Tops that barely cover my buttcheeks. At least with the leggings I don't have the issue of the tops of the pants not reaching above my hip bones as I did with long legs and too-short stirrup pants!

Yeah. And the other problem with stirrup pants was that they were kind of loose and went straight down from the hip. Everyone looked like they had two skinny, upside down triangles for legs.

    V is a rockstar.

I am excited about taking the 8,000 summer dresses I bought this season and putting some tights underneath and topping it off with one of my 4 billion scarves. I already have lots of cardigans I can mix and match. I need a new plum colored cardigan. i wore mine to death last year.

I need some new flats too. Maybe I will jump on the TOMS bandwagon.

I like gray b/c it can go with either a black or a brown palette.

  • Are there any tops that look okay with leggings that aren't tunics?  My short self and big boobs looks like a walking refrigerator box with a tunic on.

But there are some gorgeous riding boots at Jubilee that I really want

  • this whole post makes me so sad.  leggings/tunics would be so very functional and comfy, but like kat... ugh.  boobs.  and insurance rejected my reduction.

Last year I wore leggings with a couple of great shirt dresses. cotton poplin style for fall and then I had a fine whale corduroy for winter. they were all belted.

    image
  • Shirt dresses!  And honestly, a long thin sweater that is slightly fitted doesn't look bad on boobs either. My breastfeeding boobs are posing a big problem for me....no more tunics right now for the same reason...to short and no matter what bra I wear, I look like I have a uni-boob.

I went from 32/4 C to...gah I don't even want to know!  And I bought cheap nursing bras, which is probably half of my problem.

  • I am fashion impaired. Just wanted that upfront before I ask my stupid question.

I have a pair of aggie senior boots... any chance I could wear them as regular boots and not look like a total dork?

For those unfamiliar with them: http://aggiewiki.org/index.php?title=Senior_boot

Or are they too stiff to look right? Of course they've been boxed up for years, so I don't know if they'd even fit me still, but they were custom made and pretty comfy back in the day.

  • Jena, they look a lot like my riding boots. :)  I would just wear them over skinny jeans, leggings, wiht skirts, like regular riding boots.
  • I have been waiting up for the damn Missoni to come live online...here's hoping it hits CST (doubtful)

  • I'm not much of a fashionista, and my entire wardrobe is black but I cannot wait to wear my (colorful) scarves!
  • This thread really makes me want to go shopping.

  • so shirt dresses I love - but if I buy them to fit my boobs. too big in the waist.  What kind of belt can I wear?  I love the look of the thick belts but I'm afraid I don't have enough torso length to do that.
  • No Missoni last night and no Target site this morning....grrrr....

Anyone else frustrated with target's new site?  I was slightly annoyed with it before, now I officially hate it.

I was told it would go live at 8am CST and the site is down. I'm so pissed. I will take an early lunch and go to the big Target in Humble. *grumble* I haven't been pleased with their new site either, I really would have thought they would be more prepared for the extra traffic for Missoni.
