::Rings doorbell:: Mind if I join?
Hey ladies!
I've been fairly active on one or two of The Bump boards over the past couple of years, but there are times when I get sick of talking about babies all.the.time. So I've been looking for a Nest board that might be a "good fit" for me. I'm from Canada, so I took a peek at the local Canadian board but there's been only 6 posts in the past couple of months. I hope you don't mind if I hang out with you here every now and then!
Are there any other Canadians out there?
Re: ::Rings doorbell:: Mind if I join?
Hello! There are several Canadians on our board, most of them living abroad somewhere, and my DH is Canadian from MB, I'm from Michigan and we live in Japan at the moment. Our board isn't SUPER active compared to some bump boards, but better than your Canadian board by a long shot! Welcome!

Come on in! We'll be glad to have you.
Tell us a little about yourself and that cute baby of yours!
DH and I are Americans moving back to the States on Sunday after a year in Israel.
My Israel Blog!
(I'm an American living in Norway.)
Thanks for the welcome ladies!
DH and I are both from MB but have lived in AB and BC, never anywhere outside of Canada though. We've been together for 5 years, married for 2, and had our little girl, Myla, last August. She was a big surprise but is the joy of our lives! DH is a lawyer and I just went back to work as an addictions counselor and FASD coordinator after a year of maternity leave.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Pass along a message to your DH then - Go Jets, Go!
We're also from MB.
Haha! He left the house this morning wearing his Jets hat with the new airforce jet logo, second in favoritism only to his classic Jets logo hat that he wore forever in hopes of their return! Are you two from Winnipeg or from 'elsewhere' in MB?

I grew up 5 miles from the Canadian border and made a pretty sweet Degrassi reference in the "high school bans mirrors" post. If you get the reference let me know and we can be best friends forever.
Welcome!

Haha oh Degrassi. How lucky are those of us who lived in parts of the US to get Canadian channels!?

Global's got it, sista.
I got the reference and I'm not canadian plus I'm a bit young for first generation degrassi. haha
Hi! I'm an American married to a German. We had been living in Zurich, Switzerland for a year and two months. But are leaving very soon to settle back to the US.

We both grew up in MB - him in Wpg and me in an itty bitty town in South Westman. We lived there together for 4 years but just moved. Is your DH from Wpg? Or elsewhere?
Crap. Degrassi was slightly before my time. Can we still be friends?
Thanks! I went to university in AB. I always had plans to move back, but life happened in the meantime.
I got your reference! I grew up in New Jersey in the 80's & I loved Degrassi. But, we didn't get Canadian channels -- maybe it was on the USA Network or Nickelodeon after the other Canadian show, You Can't Do That on Television?
To the OP -- Welcome! We are Americans, living in Hong Kong with our 2 kids. We've visited Canada quite a few times (inclduding getting engaged in Quebec) & DH has family there. I've often been told I have a Canadian accent -- maybe it was all those formative years of watching Degrassi & YCDTOTV ;-)
DH is from Brandon, we spend lots of time in rural Westman in the summers, visiting family in Virden, Hartney, etc. I try to stay away in the winter though!
My Blog
Holy crap! Brandon is where I am right now, and I'm originally from Souris. This is by far the closest Bump/Nest connection I've ever had! Yet you're all the way across the world. I don't blame you for staying away in the winter!
I am an American living in Quebec City and have been here taking French and working as a journalist for the last eight months. We moved for my husband's job and to stretch the horizons. I heart Canada living, by the way. The winters are definitely brutal though.
Brutal is a gross understatement. I'm glad you're enjoying it! I've never been to Quebec City yet.
Hi and welcome. I'm an American who is divorcing an Israeli who I lived with in Israel for 14 months last year--been back in the US since December.
I lived in Montreal from 96-97--love Canada!
Funny that you say that you would move back, I actually talked to someone else the other day who said the exact same thing! That being said if I could move back I would be there in a heartbeat as well!

Yah, I really miss the mountains. The prairies are just so.. boring.
Vancouver is by far my favourite Canadian city. That's where DH did his undergrad - at UBC. Your DS is a cutie!
Hi!
DH and I are both Canadians from BC (me - Vancouver, DH about 3.5 hours northeast of Vancouver). We are now living in Macau for now working for a large Canadian entertainment company.
I do miss Vancouver summers though.... sigh...
Small world!
What brought you to Brandon? PM me if you'd rather!
