Awwwwwwwhhhhhhhh this made me teary.   So is he going to cut down on drinking, smoking and start eating better now since this revelation?

Yes, he wants to turn over a new leaf. He by no means drinks all the time or anything but he is thinking he will probably just cut it out completely or limit himself to two or three drinks when we go out on the weekends. I really appreciate his willingness; I know a lot of girls don't get so lucky. He is too cute about this stuff lately - he is leaving for a business trip tomorrow and was asking me about our "window" this month. I told him it would be while he was gone and he said "Do I need to change my flight?!? I can, I'm trying to make a baby here!" Big Smile

Lacy - Thanks. I hope you and Chris being in the same place brings you much happiness and you know what I mean. :)

  • Leslie- Aww that is so great!  :-)

We did the Jailbreak this weekend and it was so much fun!  I hurt in places I didn't know I could hurt haha.  My only B&M is that I got sunburned when I did it last year and those tan lines lasted all freaking year.  Well I was wearing the same sports bra and got burned again....so now I will have those stupid tan lines for yet another year!

I waited until I got into the office to post this because I knew typing it on my iPhone would be a beating and wanted to avoid waterworks in the UTA hallway. DH broke down last night about not conceiving. I knew it was weighing on him but he just let it all out completely out of nowhere. He feels guilty because he is still socially drinking and smoking and hasn't been awesome about eating better and thus cutting some weight. He feels like it is his fault we haven't had success and needs to do better. This is completely (likely?) not true and it absolutely broke my heart. After last night though, I oddly feel closer than we have ever been and the burden feels a little lighter since we can now shoulder it together.

My H and I are the same way. As stressful as TTTC/Infertility is, it has certainly brought my H and I closer together. And as strange as this may sound, it's nice to know how badly he wants to have a child too, and that I'm not the only one struggling.

    Good luck to you guys!

  • I don't have much to B&M about, that may be a first. We moved out of my IL's this weekend and I could not be any more excited!

My only B&M would be that we are BROKE right now. I need a job stat. I have a third interview Thursday, so I'm hoping it works out and I get the position.

  • Thanks mrsjager. I hope you get good news soon and don't have to worry about all of this anymore!

    More random B&M:

I ran a ridiculous 5k this weekend. There was no posted course map but I didn't worry about it. We got there and we had to run five laps around a building. I was wearing my Garmin and the distance was actually 3.6 instead of 3.1 and it turned out that whenever you crossed the timing mat was your final time regardless of how many laps you actually ran. So someone who ran one lap could win the age group even though they only ran .8 miles or whatever.

I was sad because I was really seeking a PR 5k because I know the time is there if I just seek it. I am toying with the idea of running another one this weekend (66 degree low on Saturday? Yes, please!) I know this sounds childish but I really want to do it alone. I don't want the pressure of anyone else I know running the race and having to listen afterward about a 5k that is so much faster than mine. I have never run one without having someone else "with" me and really want that experience. I know if I register for it though, my friend will too. Am I a bad person if I wait until Friday to mention it?

  • Leslie - I'm sorry y'all are going through all this, but it is good to hear that it is bringing you together.  It makes you feel like you are truly partners working together!

Dana - I hope that your DH is able to make you, SD, and baby the priorities always and forever.

All - why is it so slow?  I need some distractions today.

I had a sappy grin reading this! It's just too cute. I'm glad he is willing to do all that for you and for your future little one!

I think it's totally acceptable to do the run alone. Guess it just slipped your mind right?

Good luck on the job! I'm glad you finally got out now just one more thing.

  • Leslie - I am a big-time GP lurker, so now I'm super curious to know who it was!! I keep meaning to introduce myself over there, but always chicken out.

Not much to B&M about. DH leaves for the week (again) so I'll be a single lady. his travel schedule is supposed to die down in about six weeks, so I'm counting down on the calendar.

My mom bought a ticket to come visit and I couldn't be more excited. She's coming armed with her sewing machine and plans to help make cushion covers and drapes - woo-hoo for Crafty Moms!

Leslie, you're awesome.  I lurk on occasion, even though I'm not TTC yet, so I was curious too!

I am trying to plan a holiday cookie baking party with my sister, SIL, and mom (and maybe a couple more people).  Has anyone ever done this before?  I'm trying to think through the logistics of everything, and was just wondering if anyone else had tried it before.  (Tiffany - sorry to bring up the holidays so early - don't hate me!! haha)

Thanks - glad I got caught up. Serious drama and it's too bad she felt she had to go to extremes....

    Angry  Haha!

I have never had one before, but I would think each person could select their own recipe.   You could stock the basics.. flour, sugar, vanilla, butter, etc .. and each person could bring the unique ingredients for their specific recipe.

    Maybe?

  • Leslie - that is super sweet.  I am so glad that you know your DH is 100% exactly where you are in the TTC process - mind wise.  You know there are no doubts and he wants a baby, too.  Also, I am impressed by him taking responsibility for his half of the contribution.  I'm so glad it has brought you two closer.  :)

     Mrsjager - GL!

Yes, we used to do this with my family (aunts, g-ma, cousins). We would normally make some of the dough in advance (like the sugar cookies). Then you can just roll those out and decorate them while the others are baking.

Everyone picked one kind of cookie they wanted to "make". They brought the unique ingredients (anything other than flour, butter, eggs, etc).

Then we would kind of break out into teams and start in on the cookie making! Lots of food and wine is required as well Big Smile

PS Sorry, I don't know how to quote just part of your post.....

  • I haven't had time to be on much today, but wanted to pass along a prayer request. We just heard from Mack's sister that she & her husband are splitting up. They have a little boy not much older than Dorothy, and it's just really a heartbreaking situation. I'm keeping it on the DL with people we know IRL, but I know you guys are faithful to pray for each other... I'd really appreciate a few good thoughts on behalf of the family!

    You got it.

Angie - I want to have a cookie party. This sounds like so much fun. My friends are anti-baking though, so I don't know who would come. It would just be me in my kitchen making cookies...which is just like every other weekend, lol!

Thoughts to your family!! Close friends of mine recently announced their divorce, and it's a very tough & emotional situation for everyone. Thinking of you all.

I would TOTALLY come to a cookie party, armed with my famous cookie recipe. Baking is one of my favorite things to do. And cookies are some of my favorite things to eat. So yeah, it's a dangerous combination.....
