Poll - high school & celebs
Did you go to school with a celeb?
Or did you go to school with someone before they became a celeb?
Re: Poll - high school & celebs
My high school was a dual-enrollment type school on a college campus and while I was in school there, Eva Longoria was going to the college. I didn't know it at the time because she wasn't famous, but now they have a little photo of her there at the school.
One of my college room mates was on the first season of "Friday Night Lights".
That's all I got.
i dated a guy in college that moved to cali and was on janice dickson modeling agency. that's all i got as far as celebs...and i dont even think of him as a celeb.
oh, and i went to hs with a guy who was on the show made on TV but then nothing else. lol
Went to high school with someone who's on television now, someone who has been in television and movies. I don't know if I'd consider either of them "celebrities" though since I doubt people would know them by name (although I'm sure one likes to think that she can't go out in public the way she treats all of us now).
One of my high school friends has had a role on just about every television show that's out there. It's never anything big, usually just a "character of the week" (although she was on a series for a while) But I'll be watching and all of a sudden go "Hey! That's Jeanette!"
My new bff Gayle Forman!

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

Married Bio
Nobody famous, but there was an episode of "made" shot at my school when I was a junior. I kind of knew the girl. She was made into a dirtbike rider.

I guess it depends on how you define celeb. I went to middle/part of high school with someone who married a celebrity and subsequently had a very public divorce from her.
I also went to college with a member of a popular band.
Ditto!
YES!!!
One of my best friends in high school moved to LA and has done a pretty good number of TV shows and movies. Probably best well-known as the teenage daughter in Swingtown, it was only on maybe one season. I don't know if I'd consider her a "celebrity," but she has an imdb page and is on the red carpet sometimes.
A girl I was on the swim team with in hs was on the soap Passions but I haven't seen her do anything else.

A friend from high school became Miss USA. A brother of a friend of mine was on DOOL for a couple of years, but I've never met him and I don't hang out with his sister anymore. I was in a commercial recently, haha, but totally lame and not famous ;-)

I don't know how celebrity they are considered any more but here goes:
Steve Burns (Blue Clues) went to my high school- he graduated a few years before me but sometimes he would come back and visit the art teachers when I was a student.
Tim Glomb (Jackass) is my (non-related) aunts son. I haven't seen him for a couple years but my parents went to his wedding a few years ago.
And a 3rd degree association would be Toastee from Flavor Flavs dating show- she went to high school with an old friend of mine.

I went to elementary, middle & highschool with Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls, Heros, Rocky). We basically grew up together and were friends. He was also on my brothers baseball team. I always knew he was going to be something and was happy for him when he made it. I used to call him Rocky when we were kids because he had that lip thing going. I was ELATED when he got the role as Sloans son in the latest movie. Totally predicted that one.
I was a cheerleader with Christine Baumgartner, who's married to Kevin Costner. She was varsity when I was soph and I always looked up to her. Absolutely beautiful. She's had 2 babies with him. I remember the story thru friends of friends how they met. She really busted his balls at one of our local golf courses.
I haven't thought about Passions in YEARS! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
And ditto PP's, spill the goods!
This. I went to high school Julius Peppers. He played for the Carolina Panthers and now plays for the Chicago Bears.
I did, but I didn't know him, he's like 5 years older than me.
Anyway, Kerr Smith went to my high school if you know who he is. He also went to my church. He was on Dawson's Creek and several other tv shows. The most recent that I saw him on was on Life Unexpected, which was actually a good show, but I don't know if it's on anymore. Oh and he's been in several movies (the first Final Destination comes to mind) as well. I think I actually saw his house featured one time on an episode of MTVs Cribs.
I actually have another one, but he's famous for a horrible reason. If you recall a couple of years ago there was an American who was beheaded by the Taliban on the internet, his name was Nick Berg. He was a couple of years behind me in school.
ETA: Also, just remembered my mom used to babysit Rajah Bell (who is now an NBA player) and his little sister, so I remember playing with them when we were little.
Faye Dunaway & Cheryl Hines both went to my HS well before my days.
Moto-cross dude Ricky Carmichael was a few years before me.
A girl who was a year or two older than me was in that gymnastics movie "Stick It".
JR Martinez from AMC and Dancing With The Stars went to my high school & we graduated the same year.
A boy I grew up with (not friends though) is now a MLB pitcher.
EDIT: I forgot, Marla Maples is also from my hometown, although I didn't go to school with her.
I didn't go to school at the same time as they did, but Daniel Dae Kim and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson both graduated from my high school.
A girl from my class, Ashley Wren Collins, is an actress and has done some soap opera work, among other things. She also has an entertainment blog on The Huffington Post.

I went to HS with a girl that was on a popular Nickelodeon show when we were younger. She was (besides the mother) the only girl on the show of any relevance--the show was named after the two main male characters, both of which had the same name. I was friendly with her, but never really "friends."
Another girl I was on the dance team with in HS was a named character (on the day the show ends) on All my Children. I think she played a dual role where they killed off her original character and then brought back the twin sister to be the lesbian lover of someone. She's also had some parts (usually cameos/1-2 episodes) on certain dramas. I think one was Cold Case. She and I were also friendly, but more or less were in different social circles. She always had the "celeb" persona, and I'm just more a plain jane.
Why aren't people naming names??
Domonique Foxworth, who played for the Denver Broncos and now the Baltimore Ravens, went to my high school. He was a year (or two?) behind my in school and his brother was a year ahead of me, so I didn't really *know* him, but I recognized the name when he made it big.
An actress on a popular soap opera went to my high school and graduated a few years before me. My high school is a well-known sports school-a bunch of alumni have played or still play in the NFL and a few play MLB.
I suspect people aren't naming names for the same reason I'm not--wanting to protect their privacy. These people are listed on wikipedia along with the name of the high school they attended and the location of their hometown.
