I had been really excited for it and felt disappointed.
I will give it another chance though... I'm hopeful.

I agree. The characters need time to evolve. I think it has potential and there were a few parts that I LOL'ed to. I like Zooey D. as an actress. I think in the pilot, sometimes they try to cram in too much to get you hooked. Although I liked the ending, I really don't think they should've "advanced" the roomies relationships that fast.
Also, and maybe this is something that won't bother me with a few more episodes, but the whole "coach" name for the one roommate - along with that and his "tough guy" act, kinda annoyed me...actually, the only roommate that doesn't bother me (aside from Jess), is the bartender guy. The other one was *trying* too hard to get into character...I think he may have been trying to be like Joey from "Friends"?
MH and I lol'd @ the Douchebag jar idea too! Would it be rude to gift that to someone for Christmas? (I'm kidding).
I liked it! It was on Hulu this weekend and I actually watched it again last night. All in all, a decent night of tv (Glee, New Girl, and Raising Hope was absolutely hilarious!).

Coach won't be on anymore for those of you who didn't like him. He's on Happy Endings so next week he will be gone and they will have new (old) roommate back from somewhere overseas or something.
What? Coach won't be back on? That's a pretty good way to lose viewers, as he was hilarious! Why change the whole dynamic of the show? I mean, I know it was just the pilot, but still. Zooey D. is cute and was pretty funny, but I agree with PP about the geekiness being forced. The show as a whole was amusing, but I had higher expectations primarily because of her. FI is in love with her but didn't even care too much for the show either lol. I'll try to keep watching, but I'm really hoping that it gets better.
At least the show on after it, Raising Hope, which I had never seen before, was truly hilarious!
And on another note, I'm really excited for new episodes (finally!!) of The Middle and Modern Family! yay!
Noooo I really liked Coach. That whole "STOP THAT RIGHT NOW" thing cracked me up!

they shot the pilot with "coach" when they thought happy endings (his old show) was going to be cancelled. so of course he took a new job. but then it got picked up for another season, so he went back to that show, and thus a new roomate comes into the picture, because the pilot had already probably been sent out, and promos made and whatnot.
