There seem to be a lot of bumps and babies on the board, but I'm wondering where everybody else is in the family planning process these days. If you don't mind sharing, I'm curious:
Are you currently TTC? If so, how long have you been trying? Do you chart? Any known problems or set backs so far?
If you're not TTC now, do you have a game plan or timeline in mind? Or is it not even a consideration right now (or maybe ever)?
If you're already a mom, any plans for another?
ETA: added question for those who have kid(s)!

Re: TTC Poll
we are TTC now and have been for almost a year (next month). I charted for a while but found it to be more stressful than helpful. I'm still trying to figure out my cycles and O days, since I was on BC for so long.
the only set back is that it hasn't happened yet, but we're trying our best to be optimistic. I think our problem is timing, and since we're both so busy, it's hard to really "schedule" things, so to speak. we're trying to keep things as organic and natural as possible as far as planning, so I'm not charting or using OPKs anymore. we have plenty of time!
I will admit that I am highly disappointed every time AF shows up, and I start to worry that something may be wrong. if I'm not KU by Christmas, I will probably request some blood work.

How about #2 for anyone already with a LO?
We'll be waiting at least a year before even thinking of trying again. The doc said I would need at least that to prevent even more risk than what will already be a part of my next pregnancy. I'm A OK with that.
Good point, snoopy - didn't mean to exclude! I'll edit.

Nope. Ours are 18, 18, 21, and (almost) 21. No way we're starting over now.
But I love to see and hear about all of your beautiful babies!
Obviously we can't have biological children, but we are trying to figure out financially when we can afford a second adoption, if we can't do it to have our 2nd within 3 years of Myles we probably won't adopt a 2nd. It will depend because the adoption credit doesn't look like it's going to be renewed so it's looking more and more like Myles is it for us.
Answering my own question ...
We are currently on our 12th cycle of TTC, and nearing the 1 year mark. We do chart and use OPKs, and I'm lucky that my cycles are fairly regular, but no BFP yet. We started doing some testing over the summer, including bloodwork and ultrasound for me, and s/a for DH, and everything looks to be normal so far. The doctor has given us the option for moving forward with clomid and/or IUI, but we feel like trying naturally for the rest of the year before taking the next step. It's only recently that I've been getting stressed and upset about it, but I feel like it's going to get worse with each failed cycle.

How long have you been trying? Not including the months where I was previously pregnant or on doctors orders to wait (basically from start of TTC in earnst,June/July 2010, to this current conception, August 2011), 13/14months.
Do you chart? Yes, I charted since coming off the pill in October 2009. 22 cycles!
Any known problems/set backs? Missed miscarriage. High FSH, Dimished Ovarian Reserve dx for me, low count (yet great motility) for him.

Still fence-sitting over here. We're in the middle of a step that will hopefully help us make a decision. It won't be instantaneous, so we'll be fence-sitting at least until the end of the year (but we want to make a decision soon since I'll be 34 next year). After this step, we're hoping we feel more comfortable making a decision one way or another.
We are currently TTC and this is our first cycle after my m/c. Our TTC journey has been over a year with various issues and one loss at 8 weeks.
I chart and use the CBEFM, which I highly recommend. We got a BFP our second month using the CBEFM and I am hoping for quick results this time around too.
I am frustrated and scared and hoping we'll have a successful pregnancy soon.

We just stopped preventing though I'm still nursing and am almost sure that I'm not ovulating yet. If I'm not pregnant by late December I'll start weaning Parker, charting, and all that good stuff. In a perfect world we'd have a 2 year age gap between Parker and #2, and a 3 year gap between #2 and #3.
We are on our 6th cycle/7th month TTC. I started charting in April and kept up with it until my BBT died and I've yet to replace it. This month I've been charting CM but that's about it. I've had very inconsistent cycles since coming of BC and several anovulatory cycles.
I've suspected I have PCOS for a long time, I've just been dreading an actual diagnosis. I'm going to start up temping again next cycle and start OPK's as well. If I'm not pregnant by December I think I'll look into some testing.
We are TTC and have been for 15 months (14 cycles) right now with one loss in there. We had started testing at the 11 cycle mark and then I got my BFP. We haven't started testing again since we started trying again 3 cycles ago.
All of it has been taking a big toll on me and I was starting to get pretty upset about everything. So as of right now we are NNT until December. I have stopped charting/OPKs and am even trying not to worry too much about timing, just go back to having sex be fun again. With luck, we will get PG before December, but if not we will start testing again...
BFP 5/2/11, missed m/c, D&C 6/13/11
BFP 12/8/11--Little Girl E Born 8/22/12
We are currently TTC. I went off BC in May, and it took a good 2 months for a regular cycle to kick in. I tried temping, but it became too much of a pain. The past 2 cycles I used a OPK, and now we are playing the waiting game.
Currently not TTC. Im pretty much in the same boat as Steph...we will probably start around Makenna's 2nd bday. I want her to be a little older and be able to understand a little more about having a new baby brother or sister. A few other things have us waiting also.
Tons of luck to those ladies currently TTC! I have my fingers crossed for you ladies!
