Re: OL Tuesday
#1 - Lame.
#2 - I would! I can lead a caravan over to TCC if needed. I even know where the library is. We can bring you yummy food too if you want!
#3 - Thanks! Me too.
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for thinking of me. I am still hanging in there and lurking every once in a while, but life has been fairly stressful lately with work, family, and just being 8months pregnant and being worn out.
My mom ended up having total knee replacement surgery about 3 weeks ago and ended up in the ICU the day she was supposed to be released from the hospital with some major heart problems, so that took a huge toll on us. She has been released and is doing recovering at my sister's house but will indefinitely be taking medications to control her heart rate that went up 200 beats per minute at a resting state while she was in the hospital.
I honestly feel like I have zero time these days, I am either at work, attending continuing education courses for work in the evenings, taking baby classes at the hospital, or spending time with my mom or running errands for her or in baby preparation. Pretty much everything else is on hold these days. We bought a lof the baby stuff, but neither one of us has the will or energy to even set it up when the day is over. Hopefully things will start calming down every so slightly in the next couple of weeks so we can actually get some stuff done.
Thanks again for thinking of me, and I hope all is well with you ladies.

Dear Leslie,
I am not even kidding when I say the highlight of my weekend is going to be Titan.
- Me who is slightly obsessed with large dogs.
I love big dogs, too. We have a pit/lab cross that ways 120 pounds, and she is my favorite thing. Just a great bit barrel of a dog. LOVE her. I'm jealous you all get to meet Titan!
Dear CW,
Thanks for making the comment about my sweater. I know its mis-match day so it looks slightly odd with the combo but this is a sweater I wear regularly in the fall. Also, when I then state this is the sweater I wore for my engagements and you say oh no you're kidding right, it didnt help.
-Perturbed me
I would like some silver pumpkins too!
Tiffany,
I should have said this before, but either way I'm coming. Big dogs scare me. I look at your profile and see Titan say, "I'm going to eat you!" It's nothing personal to him I was attacked by a dog that looked similar to him and the fear has been there since. If I'm cowering in fear please just ignore me. I finished the book so I'm good to go on discussion.

Do you mean Leslie?
Dear house-
Please clean yourself today. Just have the dishes done, and vacuum, and it will be nice. I'm also thinking that you should open the windows. Its so nice outside.
Dear Tabby(our kitty)-
Thanks for playing this morning, and sounding like a horse when you run. Makes my day, and its just so cute.
-Love, your mom.
Um, NO ma'am. You look fab in that sweater. Pull up your pictures and be like, "BAM. This sweater rocks."
Deepthi,
If it helps you, I will tell/show you two things:
#1 - My cousin is deathly afraid of dogs as she was attacked as a child. She calls Titan her god-dog and frequently stays with him when we are out of town. She got in trouble with me a few months back because Titan all of a sudden thought it was cool to get on the guest bed. She sheepishly admitted she had been letting him sleep with her.
#2 - This is my five year old niece with her favorite pillow:
I promise he is nice and I think you will be okay. Tiffany will be hogging him anyway so he probably will never even get by you (because she won't let him.)
Random moving question for you guys ...
We'll be moving just a couple miles from our current place once we buy a house. We have very little furniture to move (3 bookcases, a bed, and a dresser), but we have a zillion hardcover books in addition to the usual dishes, clothes, etc. We won't have any firm deadline on when we have to be out of the house, so we could take as many trips as we need to. And H's dad has a truck and would probably help us move the aforementioned few big things, if we asked him.
Is that a smart idea? Or should we just rent one of those U-Haul type things and move everything all at once? I'm going to price out a small trailer, but I just wondered if anyone's done the multiple-trips, whatever-you-can-fit-in-your-car type of move before and what you thought of it afterward.
Leslie -
Marie - I would rent a small moving truck. Rates are usually only about $19.99/day and they charge by the mile, if you aren't moving far... then it would probably cost less than $50 to get it done.
I've moved bit by bit before, and you probably have a lot more stuff than you think. Plus, it feels like your moving FOREVER.
This. We had very little and didn't move very far when we moved into our house but with a u-haul and having it done in about an hour and a half was well worth the $50 or whatever it was.
Dear BL, that is wonderful news!!
Dear Leslie, I hope your friend and this guy hit it off!
Dear Janda309 (sorry I don't know your real name), I agree with Leslie...if you approach it with love and concern hopefully they will be open to listening to you.
Dear Kathy, do you need us to come help you put things together and get set up?? We can make it a G2G!
Dear Apple, I sincerely hope the rumors about the iphone 5 only going to Sprint customers first is completely false! I will be a little upset by that.
-faithful iphone customer
Yes ma'am, please and thank you!! I'm so excited.
Marie - quick tip: we have a TON of books. One way that I have found to transport them is by putting them in those reusable bags from Target or wherever. They have a handle, so they are easier to pick up and those bags are VERY strong.
We moved into our house in several trips. We had a trailer for the big stuff, but still made multiple trips. I didn't think it was that bad, but we had lots of helpers so that made it better.
ETA - I meant to also say, I just got an email for the Groupon Getaways, and I want to go to Tahiti now. Thanks, Groupon, for ruining my productivity.
Tiffany - Sorry! I did mean Leslie. Leslie, yea I just didn't want you to be shocked when I come in looking scared.
Marie, we did it this way. One day moved big things. One day moved everything else. DH's cousin didn't want to get a truck so we helped her on the big things day since DH had a truck. It took all day it to move everything, but it was done. Then she was responsible for doing the rest which she did on day 2.

Anna - are you wanting to sell anything else from your wedding decor? I'm having a Halloween party and I might be interested. Feel free to PM me.. or FB message me.
Aww.. T&P for her.
T&Ps for her!! That's scary!
I'll have to see what else I have. My mom's already commandeered a lot of it for her party, lol.
On Saturday I'll just bring a bunch of the pumpkins and whoever wants some can divvy them up.
Thanks for the feedback, ladies! I feel justified in presenting the U-Haul option to H now. I know he'll think (at first) that it's a waste of money since we hardly have any furniture ... but it would be so nice to just get it done in one trip (or two). And to not have to ask anyone for help.
Thanks for the tip about the reusable bags for the books! That's the part I was most dreading ... boxing up H's book collection. We have 4 (floor to ceiling) bookshelves stuffed full, plus stacks of books on our living room floor
. I asked him last night if he'd consider getting rid of some of them so we didn't have to move them, but he said no. I told him he'd have to do all the hauling of them, then.
I have always moved in small trips, not exactly by choice. This last move we had no deadline to be out so we did a trip a night and then we hired a moving company to get the big stuff. Although moving in slowly was not MY ideal, it was for the best. The house we bought was just gross so it required more cleaning than we thought. My ideal plan was to clean the carpets on day 1, move everything in on day 2. It did not work out that way! Besides the moving company, it was just DH and I doing everything.
Really? Because I think that would be awesome.

Ha...I bet you do! LOL
They just announced... Sprint, AT&T and Verizon will all get a new iPhone on October 14th. They're coming out with two phones though, the iPhone 4S and the iPhone5. Pricing negotiations start tonight, so we don't know how much they're going to cost.
