Yep, ANOTHER Nestie baby!

Hi chicks! Vincent Michael, Jr. was born via scheduled c-section this morning at 9:44am. He weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 7oz and measured 21 inches long. He is gorgeous and the hubs and I are completely smitten! I am posting and running from my phone and will update with pics and a full birth story probably tomorrow.

UPDATE:

My birth story isn't very interesting or compelling.  On Tuesday, September 27th, I had a growth scan scheduled along with my regular NST.  We knew he'd be a big baby based on the growth scan we had back in August where he measured at 6lbs 13oz (at 33 weeks!).  Well this time he measured at 8lbs 12oz.  The next day I had an OB check up and we discussed induction vs. scheduled c-section.  Based on the risks to large babies, we ultimately decided to play it safe and go with the scheduled C.  I know lots of folks wouldn't agree with our decision but we've had too many friends try induction and it ultimately lead to c-section so we decided to cut out the middle man and just do it.  So the next day, I scheduled my c/s for 10/4/11 with my OB whom I've been seeing for over 10 years.

We got to the hospital 15 minutes late (whoops!) and sat and did paperwork for about half an hour (even though they had everything on record!  I think we just had a chatty lady checking us in).  I waddled my way back to triage and climbed into bed and got my 2L of fluids while they checked out the baby on the monitor and briefed us on what would come next.   At roughly 9:00am, I was wheeled into the OR and had to sadly say goodbye to the hubs whilst I was prepped and got my spinal.

The spinal wasn't fun.  They seemed to hit the right side moreso than the left so then they had to overcompensate and the pressure just made my blood run cold.  I just kept asking the nurse "when is my husband coming back?!"  Once the drugs kicked in (and made me feel like I had the drunk spins!), my hubs came in and was talking to me (I barely recognized him with the mask on, ha!) and the next thing I know, I heard the doctors saying "he's a BIG baby!".  I freaked out because I didn't hear him cry but then I did and it was the most gloriously wonderful sound I've ever heard in my entire life.  It sucked having to just lie there getting stitched up while the hubs got to hold him and cuddle him first (yes, I'm selfish!).  Then I heard the staple gun and almost lost it again because at my OB's office, I was told I'd be getting sutured.  At that point, what can I do?

The nurse I had was Awesome (yes with a capital A).  She explained every single thing that was happening before it happened and in laymans terms so we could understand.  She answered every single nonsensical question we had.  She held my hands during the spinal and kept me calm, which I could've kissed her for.  She actually let my parents, MIL & BIL come back into triage to see us after it was over (with our OK of course) because there was no one laboring at the time.

My time in the hospital was a blur of visitors, no sleep and attempts at breastfeeding. We had some rough goes at it but I think we're working out the kinks.  We got home today and things have gotten better and I'm in much better spirits.  The hubs is absolutely in love with him and cannot stop picking him up and kissing him.  But let's face it, I'm doing the same thing.   God bless ya if you got this far in my rambling story.  Here are a few pics:
