Ok, so I was discussing this last night, and now I don't know what to do. We have a name picked out for baby if it's a girl or boy. The one I'm stuck on is the spelling for the girls name.
Taylina - this is my favorite.
Teylina - possible option because that's the way I found it in the book I read it in.
or like someone else suggested
Teylena
I'm just curious what you ladies think, because I think regardless of how we spell the name it is going to get misspelled. Kinda like my name, Alise, Elise, Alyse, Elyse, Alice... lol
We choose this name because we want to name LO after family, and our Gma's have impossible names to work with in the English language thanks to them being dutch. Teuni, and Teuntje. So this is the closest we were going to get.

John was leaning towards the Tey because he would automatically spell it that way.

I agree with Tara. If you're going for a name that sounds like tay-lean-a I would spell it "Taylena" or "Teylena".
When I saw Taylina and Teylina I read it more as Tay-lin-a...
Just name her Lena
I like the Tey though

Here's what I think:
As someone with a unique spelling of their name (it's a love hate relationship), If you don't spell it phonetically, people will never spell nor pronounce it correctly the majority of the time. .
I like the name, but I would spell it Taylena. From a teacher's perspective, if you are going to give your child an unusual name make sure you spell it phonetically correct. A child's name is the first and most important word they will learn to read and write and it needs to be manageable for them and their friends to read/write. Also, it isn't fair for them to always be correcting pronunciation.
I do think it is a very pretty name. It is uncommon without being weird.

I agree with John on the Tey and I think lena is the most foolproof.
