Benjamin is a champ with eating. In fact, prunes are the only "Stage 1" he has yet to try. DH and I were wondering about trying watermelon, but can't find info anywhere. We have one of those mesh baby feeders, or we would just hold it and let him chomp. He is very good at getting food out of his mouth if there is too much in there.
What do you think? Is it an allergy risk? Am I missing an obvious safety hazard?
Re: BWLO: Watermelon
I think if you're doing it in a mesh feeder especially you'll be fine.
I don't know of any allergy issues and safety? if it's in the mesh, it's not like he can get a chunk.
I think you're safe, it's mostly water as far as allergy's go and as long as you keep an eye that he doesn't take a big chunk in a one time it will pretty much mush itself up between his gums.
It does stain, though, and it's very messy. We usually made sure Sawyer was shirtless when we gave it to him in the mesh feeder.
