  • I'm ready! I'm blocking it off on my calendar now so nothing gets scheduled over it.

    I've already started compiling potential recipes . . .

I here-by declare myself as Second-Captain (well, 4th in Charge after Strug, Mr. Strug, and Wrigley), Cookie Proceedings Referree, and Day-of-Cookie-Table Coordinator (as well as Founder Emiritus of Cookie Celebrations)....

So, I hereby declare Pam's cookie-less presence as "allowed."

    The "rules":

    - Bake a zillion cookies = receive a zillion cookies to bring home.  Bring your own container.

    - Bring a bottle of wine or appetizer = eat leftover cookies day-of after bakers take their loot.  If you stay til the end, you may get some to take home.

    - No storebought cookies allowed.  This includes cookies baked from storebought dough, even when combined with other storebought dough (unless presentation or conception is particularly creative.)

    - Bonus points if your recipe comes from a Martha Stewart Cookbook, has pretty pretty packaging, or is particularly intricate/PITA to make.

  • Keep me on the invite please. I really hope I can make it this year.

YesYes  thank you, ch ch (and QS) for allowing me to attend, despite my lack of cookies! I will bring bags under my eyes and bottles of wine, and witty banter.

  • yes!

great date, too, I was afraid you'd pick the 17th, whew!

I am going to bring an appetizer like I did last year.

Are kids invited this year? I didn't bring DD last year but I may this year.

    thanks for organizing, again!

My question as well.  Hopefully DHs group chooses a different day for their company party so I can some.  Since he switched a few months ago, I have high hopes!

  • ack!! i don't know if i'll be able to do that or not. the kid's 1st bday is the 21st and the obvious weekend to celebrate is the 17th but we have a concert that weekend so we may have to do it the 10th. :(

i'll definitely be there if we change our minds though.

    (p.s. Pam - you can use shiit. :) )

Depends on how much wine they drink.

    I heart you, MPD.

My kid can totally drink your kid under the table.

i remember you being REALLY pg last time around :)

  • as for kids....totally up to you parents. I will say if we have as many people as last year it is a tight, but fun, squeeze so not much room to run around. (FWIW My home is not child-proof, we have a dog and i only have one set of toddler type legos on hand to play with) as long as you bring something for kid to do, go for it.

and husbands are encourage to attend. I suggested not going the party this year and DH was actually sorta bummed we wouldn't be doing it.

  • I'd love to come- hopefully I won't have christmas parties or illness to deal with this year...

  • bring it, sister! I'm in!!!

although, I might not do bourbon balls again this year...it's depressing making cookies that can give you a buzz if you can't enjoy them yourself ;-)

(and there's no way I'm bringing my kid--except the one in mah belly!)
