QOTD - Tuesday (cars)

Re: QOTD - Tuesday (cars)

  • Currently I have a 2011 Honda Odyssey.

My favorite was my 2005 Toyota Matrix. It was the first new car I ever had. I liked that it had air conditioning, a 6 disk CD changer, and a sunroof. It was also compact so I felt I could just zip around town in it.

  • 1. My current car is a 2001 Toyota Echo. It's navy blue. I bought it new in June 2001 and it was my first new car. Even though it's 10 years old (what?!?!?) and has 140,000 miles, I still think of it as my new car. It has a couple of issues - the horn stops working every 6-8 months or so, the serpentine needs to be replaced once a year and it desperately needs to be detailed. But I love it.

    2. My favorite car - it's a toss-up between the two that I've owned. The Echo is my baby and I bought it new and it's been paid off forever and I love it dearly. But my Dodge Omni was very important to me. It was a hand-me-down from my grandfather and only had 20k miles when I got it. I drove it until about 108k miles. It was red. It was a crappy car in a lot of ways, but there were things about it that were awesome - the hatchback, it was cheap to fix, the heat and defrost worked perfectly. I do have a soft spot for that car.

  • Car is a Volvo S60 and I really like it. The carseat makes the backseat almost useless but I feel safe and it drives well. This is only the third car I have ever owned. I drove a Nissan Sentra through college and into my mid20s and then it was a Honda accord for several years. Definitely like the Volvo the best

  • 1) Subaru Forester ('09) and Honda Accord ('98)

    2) I guess the Forester is my favorite because it's the nicest new car I've ever had. It's really comfortable for traveling and as of right now (before baby #2) it fits all of our stuff nicely. However, the Honda holds a special place in my heart because it's 13 years old now and (knock on wood) we have never had a single problem with it. It runs great and while it's starting to look a little dated, it still looks good overall.

  • 1. volvo wagon.  the smaller one (I think it's v50?). i feel like a woman designed this car.  Everything makes sense!  Like, if your front windshield wipers are on & you're backing up...the back ones automatically go on too.  Because, duh, you're going to need to see out there!  I also love that the back seat folds flat for haulin'.  Plus, teh gas mileage is pretty good.

    2. My favorite car, though, would be my last car: Blueberry the VW New Beetle.  (it was blue).  I could fit so many plants in that car!  More than the volvo wagon, in fact, b/c the roof was higher.  It would have been a PITA with a carseat, though, so we got rid of it during my pregnancy.  If they made sedan versions of that car, I'd be all about it!

  • 1.2009 VW Passat Wagon

    2. My Jeep Liberty, I got it in college and its been my fav car, it was also the only car I've bought brand new. It was with me for almost 10 yrs but I had to say goodbye when we had our 3rd DD as it just wouldn't fit 3 carseats in the back seat.

  • 1. DH informs me I drive an "old white lady" car. A 2010 Lexus 250. Whatever, I drive like a grandma, might as well have the matching car.

    2. My 2002 Honda accord. I drove that sucker till last year and wanted to drive it into the ground (totalled it instead). Awesome because it was 1. PAID FOR, 2. never gave me problems, 3. I knew exactly where all the buttons, bells and whistles are. I still can't figure out how to work half the stuff on my current car.

  • 1. 2010 Honda Civic

    2. This one because it's my first "real" car. My parents gave me their black '88 Accord when I was in HS (which I promptly totaled a few months later :-S), then their red 2000 Accord when I graduated from college. I'm not at all complaining about the cars they gave me - it would be great not to have a car payment...but on the other hand, I just like how it's my responsibility, it's just the right size and I finally got to pick the color (atomic blue).

  • 1. When I have the Bambino, '07 VW Rabbit. Without Bambino, '96 Honda Accord.

    2. Well, the Rabbit was my first brand-new car. And in December, it will be paid off!  It's a fun car.  It's stick, it's quick and I love it in turns (as does DH).  We have fit all kinds of things in there and loved watching people with SUVs not able to fit large purchases yet we have been able to load it up in our hatchback and off we go.  (This has not happened much since the birth of Bambino haha).

    2.  A 1995 Chevy Blazer.  It was my first car, and I'd wanted a Blazer since I was a little girl (my parents had one when I was 4-5 or so).  Unfortunately, it started having major engine problem in 2001, and that was the end of that...

We had a '93 Blazer that I drove into college and that was definitely a favorite as well.  I cried when I got rear ended and the wrecker hauled it away.  That was a real SUV!

  • Obviously I'm late in returning to this post, but I just have to say that I love all the Cutlass Supreme love. Awesome!

Also, my friends also said my car smelled like crayons. I had no idea it was a smell phenomenon!
