Stupid, arrogant, self-absorbed little twatwaffle decided that she didn't need to wait for the car in the intersection to get to the other side of the street before taking her left turn (almost on 2 wheels, she was going so fast) and plowed into the guy with the right of way. Rammed his car into a van waiting to take a left from the cross street, and both cars spun, her car into mine, two lanes away where I was about to take my right turn. She never even slowed down when taking the turn. Just drove right into the other car's driver's side. I had my infant in the car with me. I have never, ever screamed so loudly at someone in my entire life. The broken glass from her car was all over mine, my headlight is bashed in and my bumper is almost falling off. I got out of my car and just laid into her. The guy in the car she hit and the guy in the van also proceeded to scream at her, too. I have no idea what was going through her head, she wasn't even trying to beat him through the intersection, he was in the middle of it. If she'd injured or killed my kid, I'd probably have been hauled off to jail, I can tell you that.
So, needless to say, not the best start to my morning. My hands were still shaking when I got to work. Nothing like watching a spinning, out of control car coming straight at you after she caused a major accident. I thought I was going to have a stroke.
Re: I got hit this morning driving to work.
How scary! I'm glad to hear everyone is okay. I would have screamed too.
It's scary seeing how some people drive.
Dear God, that's awful. I haven't been in an accident in a while, but I know that shaky, upset feeling all too well.
Did she have anything to say for herself? What an idiot.
BTW...I'm glad you are OK, car aside.

Texting while driving is illegal where I live. If it is where you live they will probably look at her phone records to see if there was a text sent at the time of the accident. I still see people texting while driving around here too.
It is here, too. I'm not sure what will happen to her or if they checked her phone. The guy she hit got taken away in an ambulance (for what, I don't know...he was walking around after it happened). An EMT checked over Baby Malibu and she was fine (she wasn't crazy about the sirens though), and of course, the twit who caused the accident was perfectly fine, as it usually works out. She actually tried to blame the guy she hit until the ten or so people who gave statements to the cops pointed out that she was lying and was also a total idiot. Then there was a lot of backpedaling. I don't know who she thought she was fooling, when there were about thirty cars at the intersection at the time who watched her idiot move.
She's 10 months. So she was good and protected in her cozy carseat, but she was definitely startled when my car slid up on the curb. I expected her to cry a lot, but she whimpered a little and then she was fascinated by the police lights until the vehicles came with sirens on. That freaked her out.
Oh my gosh, I am so relieved to hear that you & your child are ok. That does sound awful. I will never understand how people got themselves into such a damn hurry these days. For real, just drive like a rational human being, kwim? I hate people who want to cut corners, run lights, and ride your tail bumper because you are going 5 over the speed limit (and riding my arse isn't going to make me speed for you idiot). Heaven forbid you go the speed limit on the freeway?
People who are in such a rush I always congratulate them when they get to the RED light faster. I'm like, "congratulations Arsehole, you made it to where ever you are going a whole THREE seconds faster by being a raving, pushy idiot. Really, what a winner."
I'm really sorry that you had to deal with that this morning, but very very thankful you are ok. It could have been so much worse, and I hope (but doubt) that that chick learns the value of just relaxing & realizing that getting to your destination a whole 5 minutes earlier isn't worth your life or someone else's.
Accidents scare me inasmuch as you don't know if the other person is high, has a weapon, has a large amount of anger/road rage or anything else that can possibly put you in physical danger.
I am glad you and the kiddo were not injured.
