Let's really talk about Legos.
Any fans? I love Legos. Yes, I'm 5, so what?

Re: Let's really talk about Legos.
I love Legos too. In the last post I mentioned the table I had when I was a kid, and that my cake topper was made of Legos as well. They're awesome.
DH and I are still planning on going to Legoland someday. That's a helluva lot cooler than Disney.
I was going to come in here and say that you're a nerd, but I bought you Legos for your birthday! So I guess I'm contributing to your nerdiness.
I went to FL Disney like 7 years ago, but I didn't get to see any of the cool Legos. Not sure how. There's a Legoland in Texas now, which is closer to us than Cali, so that might be our future destination.
Google "chive legos" and you will get about a million Chive articles with sweet Lego designs. It's awesome.
I think there's a Legoland near Disney World...or at least there used to be.
I luff them.
And when the Mr. and I were first dating, all bets were paid in legos.
So out for shooting pool? looser buys the winner legos
bowling? same thing.
I know there's one in San Diego. And one in Florida. I still think Texas may be closest to us. I'm not sure it's open yet, though. We're planning on PAX in Washington first, anyway.
According to the website, there is one in San Diego, and the one in Florida opens this Saturday. Nothing about Texas yet, though.
I don't live far from Walt Disney's birthplace. There was talk of building a Disney park there at one point, but it's a pathetic little shithole, so I can see why that fell through.
ETA: There are apparently several Legoland "Discovery Centers" across the country. Are these smaller parks, or something? There's one in Chicago. That's only 6 or 7 hours from here. I could totally do Chicago.
ETA AGAIN: WHAAAAAA? THERE'S ONE IN KANSAS CITY.
Word. Hence I much prefer matchbox cars.
To show what a nerd I am, we currently have the following games at my house.
Lego Batman (that's DS's)
Lego Pirates of the Caribean, which DS calls Prates of the Lego Bean.
Lego Harry Potter, Years 1-4
And I pre-ordered Lego Harry Potter, Years 5-7.
The Lego games are actually really cute.
I love the Lego games. We have the Star Wars ones and Lego Rock Band. They're hilarious. DH and I played the first Star Wars until 3am one night, and we got punch drunk and crazy until everything was hilarious. I was playing as R2 and jumped into a booth in the cantina and said "Imma have some soup," and we laughed for like twenty minutes.
I swear we weren't stoned. Swear.
My H LOOOOOVES Legos. He has just about all the Star Wars collection except for the huge expensive ones. We have the Harry Potter sets and the little village or whatever it's called. He's almost 35 years old and still buys them and asks for them for Christmas.
I'm only a fan of them by association. I think they're cool looking but I don't get overly excited about them.
They are everywhere in our house...
I loved Legos. Especially the space ones with the neon colors, circa 1988. My little brother and I could play Legos for hours.
I miss the old school tub-o'- Lego that just had a bunch of random blocks and planks and crap, instead of all these "kits" where you have to build something specific.
I used to build elaborate castles and houses and cars and shiit. I could spend hours doing that.
Loved them when I was a kid. Now I hate them. Well hate is a strong word it just sucks when I step on my kid's legos. DH put together a 1,000 piece lego set (for himself I might add.) a couple months back. he was like "want to help?" I helped sort through them but on the 3rd day of building the halo drop ship........ my answer was NO.
