I sold my rings

It's enough to pay off my lawyer, plus a little left over for savings.

I'm kinda struck dumb right now.  I will be debt free.

This is my siggy.

  • I like the whole notion that your rings, purchased in contemplation of marriage, were of sufficient value to get you out of that marriage. It's all very karmic or something.

Even more so when you factor in that they sold on my XH's birthday. No lie.

Be honest, were you mildly tempted to email/text the douche and say, " Happy Birthday Azzhole!' Guess what I did today?"

  • I just have to say I'm impressed you're doing something as responsible as putting it in savings.  I'd buy something stupid and unnecessary JUST BECAUSE.

Well, uh, the money set aside for this month's lawyer payment is now going to be spent at the outlet mall.  Does that count?

  • How did you sell them, if you don't mind me asking?  Pawn shop, classifieds, etc.?

A jeweler sold them on consignment.  It was a win-win-win for everyone involved.  I got a better price than if I had pawned them, the jeweler made a commission, and the buyer got a very nice wedding set for a much lower price than if he had purchased them brand-new.

  • I am SO looking forward to the day when some woman offers me her fabulous diamond ring in exchange for a divorce, lol
