Need advice for St. Louis

If you only had one night in St. Louis to go out to dinner, where would you go?

Re: Need advice for St. Louis

  • Kemol's is fabulous. Very different. Or, Angelo's on the Hill.

SO SINGS MY SOUL *WHAM!* MY SAVIOR GOD TO THEE *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!*
  • How much do you want to spend?

Tony's is the best old school restaurant in town (incredible service).

Niche and Vin De Set are also good.

  • Ditto for Angelo's and/or Niche.

Probably not something super expensive but not necessarily super cheap either.  Does that help? lol

  • I've heard that Niche is really good. Maybe some place on the hill if you like Italian food? Cunetto's?

  • Oh, I have been to one restaurant in STL. The Old Spaghetti Factory. It was delicious!

  • I second Cunetto's House of Pasta.
  • Do not, under any circumstances, go the the Old Spaghetti Factory.  Blecch.  There are dozens of really good Italian places on the Hill.

Cunetto's is good, but there will always be a wait.  We called once to ask if there was a long wait for a table, and were told that there was no wait time.  When we got there (literally 5 minutes; we lived less than a mile from the place), we were told 45 minutes to get a table.  When we explained that we had just called, the hostess said "Forty-five minutes isn't a wait for us."    Favazza's, Zia's or Lorenzo's are also good.

Haha, it was good when I went, but that was several years ago.

  • Hey I personally like OSF but it is a national and it certainly isn't a place I would take out of town guests.  For something with local flair  I would pick a place on the Hill.

The Hill is where a lot of Italian immigrants settled and is full of wonderful family owned Italian restaurants, shops and bakeries.

  • Niche, Salt, Farmhaus, Home Wine Kitchen, or Milagro Modern Mexican.

Blood and Sand is the best new restaurant in town. It's a club though, but they do have guest passes if you can swing it!

And as a St. Louis native, I think most of the Hill isn't good.. provel is the devil.
