more S/O from yesterday: how do you take care of your skin?
What face cleanser do you use and how often?
Exfoliator?
Moisturizer?
Wrinkle fighters?
Anything else?
I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns
Re: more S/O from yesterday: how do you take care of your skin?
I should wash my face more often, I'm sure. I use Clean & Clear every morning but I often sleep with makeup on. I know.
Witch hazel as toner every morning, as my skin is extremely flaky and uneven. Some gel-like moisturizer from Garnier. That's about it at this point. I need to take better care of my skin, but I'm broke and kind of lazy.
I use a cleanser daily, I moisturize daily. I wear SPF foundation or SPF tinted moisturizer. I exfoliate once a week, usually Sunday evening.
And when I say daily, I mean 98% of the time. Some days I go without makeup and I don't wash my face or moisturize on those days. I just remove my mascara with an eye make-up remover. This is usually on the weekend when we don't go out.
I also use witch hazel every morning.
eta: products
Kuus introduced me to The Body Shop. For over a month now I've been using these products:

http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/skin-care/facial-toners/vitamin-e-hydrating-toner.aspx
I also use the salt scrub and body butter once a week.

http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/body-products/body-product-best-sellers/olive-body-butter.aspx
The exfoliator I use a pretty expensive, but it's potent and lasts a long time because you just don't need that much to get the job done.

I use Olay day and night cream because I've yet to find something better in my price range. I'll probably end up going with something from The Body Shop.
I've researched my skin care for a while and am still making some tweaks to my routine. Here's how it stands right now:
AM
Wash with either Paula's Choice skin recovery cleanser (for dry skin) or with just water, depending on whether I washed my face or used a wipe the night before.
Follow with Paula's Choice RESIST toner
CeraVe PM moisturizer mixed with 1-2 drops of Paula's Choice skin recovery antioxidant serum (with retinol)
Top with Hourglass SPF 15 mineral primer
PM (the good version)
Wash with Paula's Choice skin recovery cleanser, follow with Clinique take the day off eye makeup remover, if needed
Follow with Paula's Choice RESIST toner
Once per week I use Paula's Choice 10% AHA liquid, the rest of the days it's either the 5% AHA lotion or the 2% BHA gel (also Paula's Choice). Some days I don't use a chemical exfoliant at all, to give my skin a break.
Moisturize with Clinique Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer (I use the one for very dry to dry skin)
PM (the lazy version)
Wipe off makeup with Boots Expert Sensitive cleansing & toning wipes
Follow with Clinique moisturizer
collapse into bed
Cleanser: Origins Checks and Balances every time I shower (6 days/week). At night before bed I will use Burt's Bees face wipes to remove makeup.
Exfolitator: I just exfoliate with a washcloth in the shower. It pretty much does the trick.
Toner: Origins Purifying Tonic. Smells good and doesn't dry my skin.
Moisturizer: Inner Light mineral tinted moisturizer (in sheer) with SPF 15. My skin is very acne prone, and this moisturizer never makes it oily.
Aveeno foaming cleanser and then Oil of Olay sensitive moisturizer, only before bed.
I am a cheap, lazyass b*tch.
I take care of my skin almost not at all.
I was every day (sometimes twice) with Origins Checks & Balances face wash. LOVE this stuff.
I moisturize when I remember to with Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough.
I have kind of combination skin, in that it's oily on my forehead, but dry around my nose. I have pretty much no wrinkles yet (I'm 28), but considering I've now found 2 gray hairs, I'm sure the wrinkles are on their way.
My Lunch Blog
I wash my face twice a day with the Body Shop seaweed gel face wash (morning with an exfoliating pad from there, and evening with their face brush), and follow with their seaweed astringent.
I'm greasy as can be, so I don't moisturize. But I do use the seaweed pore perfector during the day and Bare Escentuals Bare Vitamins skin rev-er up-er at night mixed with a little of the Body Shop pomegranate wrinkle serum.
Ideally: I use either the pink boots cleaser or TJ's orange cleanser at night and then I moisturize with oil of olay night regenerist cream. I have also been trying to remember to put burt's bees eye jelly around my eyes before bed. Lazy me uses the boots 3 in 1 wipes.
In the morning, I use Yes to Carrots moisturizer with SPF in it.
I was using alba sea kelp scrub to exfoliate, but lately, I've just been using a bit of baking soda mixed with water. My skin feels so much smoother! It's amazing.
Dove soap in the AM (in the shower) and store brand Oil Of Olay when I think I need.
I'm freakin' gorgeous
I have terrible acne, so that sucks, but here's what I use...
What face cleanser do you use and how often? Dr. Dennis Gross All-In-One Facial Cleanser and Toner. 2x a day, AM & PM.
Exfoliator? I exfoliate twice a week with Kate Sommerville Exfolikate
Moisturizer? Neutrogena Oil-Free for sensitive skin
Wrinkle fighters? I use Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel. It's an anti-aging/anti-acne treatment.
Anything else? I use Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Intensive Lifting Creme under my eyes
I use Garnier facial scrub in the shower and moisturize after with Cetaphil
At night I use Olay 2-in-1 facial cloths
I really feel like I should use some wrinkle cream or something, I'm getting fine lines around my mouth and eyes, I just haven't decided what to use yet
pond's cold cream each evening.
pond's deep moisturizing cold cream in the winter or if my skin feels dry.
love their products--they are non-comdegenic, moisturizing, and cheap. I struggled with acne until I realized that products like clean and clear, garnier, st ives, etc. have oil and can clog pores/contribute to acne.
AM: Aveda All sensitive moisturizer and cleanser, botanical kinetics toner
PM: Aveda all sensitive cleanser, liquid exfoliater every other day, tourmaline hydrating creme.
I have rosacea, this combination seems to work very well on my sensative skin.
Thanks to some peeps on TIP, I've gone back to some products I used a lot when I was younger.
Aveeno daily face scrub
Either Aveeno Positively Radiant lotion or Clinique daily lotion. On days I don't use the face scrub, I use Clinique dry combination "toner", which they call clarifying lotion. lol
My face has seemed much better. I have sensitive dry combination skin (oily T-Zone, dry everywhere else, sensitive) and this seems to have controlled most of the dry patches and breakouts.
