Re: Whatever Friday
I'm with Julie--sports for me all weekend. Ben and I can't wait for Sunday already with Cowboys AND the Rangers. I invited my sister and her new boyfriend over for the game tomorrow but don't know if they are coming. Getting a pedi tonight, gym and errands tomorrow.
When things are down around here, our bosses usually do a Happy Hour for us somewhere. It doesn't happen often though. We get breakfast brought in every Friday, but that would be nice if you don't have something like that. And of course, we are always casual here but a World Series Day or something would be fun.
Oh yeah, pumpkin muffins. Am definitely making those this weekend.

Wow a lot happened while I was dealing with that case.
Bri - Thanks I added and can't wait to try it.
Go Rangers! We find out in the next couple days if we can go to Game 3. That would rule!
I love Life and now they personalize monopoly...

Have a great time tonight! Enjoy a yummy dinner! Love that place.
Thanks for the tidbit about the iPhone. I check it out!
The synchronized chair dancing reminds me of one of the library associations (Texas maybe?) that does routines with bookcarts. Oh yes, I said it. They also did a calendar fundraiser for the association - the tattooed ladies of TLA.
As for morale boosters, we do potluck birthday parties each month, but that's pretty much it. So, maybe not surprisingly, morale is pretty low here pretty much all the time.
I remember that calendar, Anna.
We don't do anything here so I pretty much will ditto your last sentence.
Stephie mentioned food and while it would not work here, what about a potluck on Friday's and an extended lunch so they can enjoy it.
Cosmo has full blown diabetes and some indication of a liver problem. The vet is going to work on getting him regulated (insulin, I guess?) early next week so they can test the liver again.
..or something like that.
So much for happy Friday for me. I'm so sad for my Buddy.
Oh no! I'm so sorry, Tiffany. That really sucks. I'll be praying the vet will be able to figure out what he needs to be a happy healthy pup once again!
Sorry Tiffany. I hope it won't be too much of a pain to deal with.
So sorry to hear that! I pray things work themselves out so you can have a healthy baby!

Tiffany - I'm sorry to hear about your buddy. I hope everything goes smoothly and will be a happy, healthy puppy soon!!
Yeeeeeeeah. I won't hold my breath. (this is not an anti-Obama statement at all. This is a "that's a huge undertaking and it hasn't been done in 10+ years, so good luck" statement.)
Ya I deleted my comment. I don't want to sound like I like O bc I don't. So I thought it best to delete. I'll be surprised if it really happens too. I probably shouldn't have put it out there.

Tiffany - I am so sorry about cosmo
Thanks for all the suggestions on the morale boosters. We have casual fridays and you can buy a jeans pass for the entire month and we are in need of TONS of OT right now. Seriously some of out TMs are working open to close 5 days a week 7am-9pm. I know this is contributing to the low morale especially since we still arent hitting our goals.
I like the fall festival and I might bring in breakfast one of these days. We do halloween realllly realllly big here as in we have already fund raised over $300 to buy supplies and thats just the tip of the iceberg so I am hoping that will help out in a week or two.
The chair dancing sounds hilarious.
Tiffany - I am sorry to hear that about Cosmo! Luckily, vets are able to manage lots of doggy diseases these days, so hopefully with some meds he'll be good as new soon!
I just had Mexican food for lunch, and had a really fun time visiting with some of the ladies in my department, but not on my team. Now, I'd like a quick nap, and then to be able to leave work early to get on the road for the weekend!
Tiffany I am so sorry to hear about Cosmo. Ben's cat had diabetes--it can totally be managed though so that is good news. Ben was able to regulate his cat so closely that his diabetes pretty much disappeared--his numbers are back to normal and while he still checks his blood every other day and regulates his diet, he doesn't have to give him insulin anymore.
Not how sure it works with dogs but I think it is certainly something you can manage. The one bad thing is that it's hard to go on vacation--you have to have someone that can give the shots every day. Fortunately, we had a family friend who worked for a vet that did it for Ben. Keep us posted!

We just got back from having DH's car towed back to our house until we can figure out what to do with it. We'll be checking out dealerships in the morning.
I'm intrigued with making pumpkin muffins now!

Thank you everyone. I am a bit of a basket case because I feel like it is my fault for not doing something sooner. He has never been overweight or sick at all and until Monday night he never even acted differently. I know the diabetes can be managed, but I'm scared to death about his liver.
Stephie - Yeah, I actually got Cosmo when I was in high school so he is very much at home with my parents too, thankfully. In fact, that is where he is now since his vet is near them... so if dogsitters are needed then we definitely have them.
Sorry Tiffany :-( I hope he gets better soon!
This day is seriously the longest day ever. I just want to go home! :-( I feel like I have so much to do in the upcoming weekends and I just want a weekend of doing nothing! That would be really nice :-)
I am finally almost done with Unbroken. (I am so far behind on book club!) It is just so sad :-(

Re: Obama and troops coming home.
I will with-hold all judgement and say only one thing...
The timing very convenient.
That's all I've got. I'm going to go back to eating my 3 Musketeers bar, probably giving myself diabetes, to make myself feel better.
Hi ladies! i've been a bit MIA the past week. This new building has me all sorts out of whack. Not to mention the people here think that they can push all of their work onto me just because i can technically do it. Boo on them.
Marie - a little late on this, but YAY on the house
that's exciting!
Tiffany - sorry to hear about cosmo. We had a liver scare with our rescue husky. She's fine now, the vet said it was "no big deal". But it still kept me up some nights. At least you now know what it is and it can be fixed!
i hope he's healthy here soon!
