Maybe homework for the home fashionistas over the weekend. lol
My comforter... I've had it for about 4 years now. It's white with blue, light blue, spring green and brown circles on it. Kind of what a high schooler or college freshman may pick out.
I've wanted something new for awhile now, but have a hard time picking. Can you guys help?
I'll probably look at BB&B and Target when I buy, because I am poor. Under a hundred would be ideal.
As far as color and design goes: Not too frilly, no pastels or pure white, etc. I like some color punch but, as you can see by my current comforter pick, I need some help in making it more adult. I'd also like to keep the bed skirt if the new comforter doesn't come with anything, but don't really care if it matches or not.
Re: Help me pick a new comforter? PIP
You're no help! lol
http://www.target.com/p/DwellStudio-for-Target-Perch-Comforter-Set/-/A-10695703 I like this a lot
For me personally, I'd go with a solid (OR GEOMTETRIC! lol) comforter and get fun, punchy pillowcases, kinda like this:
That way, if I'm feeling grown up I can go with toile or french prints pillowcases or something, and if I'm feeling silly I can use my sushi pillowcases.
Please clarify, are you looking for a new cover for an existing duvet you have, or a totally new, covered, filled comforter? Because TBH I could not even tell what was actually included in the "comforter set" above!
ETA: Andplusalso, if you could have only one or the other, would you rather have something fresh/sleek/modern or formal/traditional-looking?
Totally new comforter. I'm not fancy-schmancy enough to use duvets. ;-)
Fresh/sleek/modern without being stark... if that makes sense.
I like these two.

:::butting into TIP::: I am a lurker, and uber bored. Trying to avoid taking a nap, and I love to pretend shop for others.

a little too matchy matchy, but you don't have to use all the pieces:

definitely NOT pastel:

IDK, but I keep leaning towards these medallion prints. Not exactly modern, or traditional really
http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Cherry-Blossom-9-piece-Twin-size-Bed-in-a-Bag-with-Sheet-Set/5639212/product.html Crap, it's a twin, but maybe they have it in the right size for you (if it doesn't make you want to vomit all over it)
Ok, I will go back to lurking now! Good luck finding a new comforter. If you don't see any online, I always go to TJ Maxx or Homegoods to find them.
Would you dare go Marimekko? Why it'd be like sleeping in Jackie O's bed!

I love that DwellStudio one you posted, Gault.
Here's a cute, colorful option from Kohl's.
Something a little simpler.
I'll ditto this, especially living in CA you can buy a light down duvet suitable for all seasons and it will last you for years and years and years. There's no substitute for its heavenly loft.
Good taste. I really like all the ones from Target you posted. I also saw another one on Target's site called "Marrakesh" That was pretty cool too.
This is very true. A good, lightweight down or down alternative comforter/duvet is wonderful to have. You can buy different duvet/comforter covers to change the look, too. I used to have a really nice one from The Company Store. Now DH and I have a Woolrich down alternative from Target. It's so cozy.
I really like those ones too! I am in the market for a new comforter/duvet cover! This post is helping me so much! (not! I'm more confused as to what I want now)!
