So.....what'd you think?
Me, I loved it. Can't wait for more!
Re: Once Upon A Time - Pilot
I wasn't ready for it to be over, and I wanted more. I'm pretty sure that means I like it, a lot! I really want it to last... especially with Ginnifer Goodwin! And, the main character being a bounty hunter makes it interesting, as well (probably because I'm a lover of the Stephanie Plum books).
My H even said he thought it'd be a pretty decent show. Shocking.
It is going to make me remember/Google my fairy tales! I vaguely remembered Rumpelstiltskin, so I had to call my mom and even she had trouble remembering that tale.

i liked it...dh was confused about who was who.
i'm still trying to figure it all out....but if time was supposed to stand still in storybrook how is the boy now 10?
Oh interesting thought about his age!
I had a hard time telling the women apart too, they all kind of looked alike to me at first.
I'm very excited for more.
I miss you lite-brite!
Time stood still for the Storybook Characters. Henry is Emma's son, and NOT a fairy tale character. Emma, while a fairy tale character (Prince Charming and Snow White's daughter) was saved from the curse they they put her in the tree, so she is not affected by time standing still, either.
Mayor was The Evil Queen from Snow White
Henry's teacher is Snow White
John Doe in the hospital is Prince Charming
The guy at the B&B was Rumplestilsken
The old lady at the inn was Granny from Little Red Riding Hood
The girl at the inn was Little Red Riding Hood
The man in the street was Jiminey Cricket

The men in the jail were Ghepetto (sp?) and grumpy (7 dwarfs). I have 2 little girls so I'm very familiar with all things fairy tale.

I loved it. But I never watched Lost so I feel like I'm missing a whole side of this show. They'll do a close-up on a door number or license plate and I'll think, I bet that's some cool Lost reference but I've no idea what it is. I know it has no actual impact on the story, I just feel like I'm not in on the inside joke.
TV Line has a side by side slide of characters for those of you that are confused on who's who.
I was expecting the wardrobe to make an appearance in modern day Storybrook. Like the doors being fit onto the entrance to Henry's 'castle' or something.
In Lost, they'd focus on 1 character each episode and do a back story with flashes to present time. I'm hoping the format is the same for this show.
I thought the special effects were kind of cheap looking. But I know this is TV and not cinema. The fairy tale costumes were pretty bad too (Don't get me started on the mess that was Snow White's hair/dress on her wedding day).
I liked the story though...so I'll keep tuning in to see where it goes.
I think it will. I read something about next week being the Queen's story and the week after being Snow and Chaming's initial hook-up.
What happened to Pinocchio? I know he isn't a "real boy" per se, but he was a character in fairy tale land so I thought he'd pop up somewhere in the modern day version.
Any ideas who the modern day Sheriff is supposed to be in fairy tale land? I thought the idea that he's the Huntsmen from Snow's story was a good theory. It kind of sounded like him in the armor when they were trying to steal baby Emma.
I hope they re-run the pilot. I tuned in about 20 minutes into the show, and I couldn't have been more confused.
I read speculation that he's the Big Bad Wolf, which would explain the wolf in the road when Emma spun out. He was awfully hot, though. Yowza.
I liked it more than I thought I would. I was afraid it would be horribly cheesy, but it was pretty solid. Though I agree about Snow White's WTF hair at the wedding. And I couldn't help but wonder why no one noticed they hadn't aged in 28 years. I know time stands still and all, but Henry is aging. Doesn't that clue anyone in? Heh.

I don't usually post here, just lurk, but a close friend of mine is playing one of the dwarves and so I had to pop over and see what everyone was saying about the show!
I watched, thinking it would be fun and quirky or terrible, and liked it a lot!
Doesn't Grimm come on later this week? Which network copied the other one? I find it hard to believe that they both thought of this the same year. If Grimm is at all cheesy, it will lose, because OUAT was fun!
The first season of Lost was also good and was my favorite show, but along the way it seemed like they were meandering around, not knowing when to start wrapping things up. I hope that doesn't happen to this one.
I have to admit when I first heard about this show I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I've heard of in a while, but I decided to watch it. To my surprise I really liked it.
I think as the story develops we will learn more about the characters but it was a lot better than I thought it would be.
The actor that plays Rumplestilsken is awesome. I think he is going to be good to watch. I wonder if he will side with the eveil witch/mayor.
The only question I have is does the evil witch/mayor not remember anything either? Because it was her curse I wasn't sure if she lost her memory of the other life too or she somehow managed to herself immune to it.
I really liked it. I agree with PP that I thought the show was a little far fetched but decided to tune in.
I love Rumplestilsken and I look forward to seeing if he is good or evil. My guess is he'll side with the queen/mayor.
I don't know if the queen/mayor lost her memory or not. At the end of the show when she looked in the mirror I was expecting to see the evil queen on the otherside. My guess is she knows.
Heh. That was my major complaint too. W.T.F.
I think I will re-watch because I was doing homework while this was one, but it seemed good, and I I love Jennifer Morrison (and d@mn she is looking great!) and it seems fun and different.
H and I Googled Rumplestiltskin immediately after watching it! lol
I really love this show already. It reminds me of the old tv movie, The 10th Kingdom.
I DVR'd it, not thinking I would like it but would give it a chance. Within the first 5 minutes of watching it today, I was already thanking my stars I recorded it, I loved it! I'm so excited for the next one! Updating my DVR to record the whole season!
Perhaps they were going for the "my hair was done by woodland creatures" look...?
I had my doubts based on the commercials but the rave reviews here made me check it out on OnDemand. I'm glad I did-I really enjoyed it and will now be recording the series.
I also expected the Mayor to see herself as Queen in the mirror at the end! I can't tell if she knows about the curse or what's up. I wonder if she deliberately adopted Henry knowing he was Emma's child.
