Can you read/write in cursive?
Do you normally write in cursive (other than your signature)?
How do you feel about it not being taught in schools anymore?
Re: Poll: Handwriting
Do you normally write in cursive (other than your signature)? No, I normally print.
How do you feel about it not being taught in schools anymore? It saddens me. Receiving a hand-written letter or card is so much more intimate than anything typed. A college-educated co-worker revealed that he was never taught cursive and it surprised me. We're starting to see the first generation of adults who cannot, IMHO, fully read and I feel sorry for upcoming generations. Any future children of mine will be taught cursive at home.Do you normally write in cursive (other than your signature)? no, BUT when i'm writing a lot...my handwriting is sort of like a print/cursive mix.
How do you feel about it not being taught in schools anymore? i think it's a little crazy, BUT i also get it. several of my good friends are teachers, and they're expected to teach so many things, and their kids HAVE to pass standardized tests...so something's gotta give. it's the same with music and gym classes. i don't like it at all, but i think it's partly a symptom of our very broken educational system based on no child left behind. My Shopping Blog
ITA. And you're completely right. I loathe the fact that there is less extra-curriculars in schools now.

Do you normally write in cursive (other than your signature)? Only sometimes
How do you feel about it not being taught in schools anymore? I have mixed feelings. I spent 2 years learning to write in cursive, and I think in today's classroom the time could be better spent learning other things.

I write in a cursive/print hybrid that is mostly cursive most of the time. When I write things for others to see its in cursive.
I remember being soooo excited to finally learn how to write in cursive. I'm not disappointed about it. I agree that time could be better spent learning other things. Its sad that it will be a lost art. In 20 years I will be saying, "In my day we sent handwritten thank you notes."
