Friday QOTD (first dates)
What was your first date with your husband/SO?

We went and got something to eat after being at the bar, then stayed out all night driving around. We sat by the lake and watched the sun come up, then he dropped me off at my friend's house.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
Drinks at the Big Hunt followed by dinner next door at Luna Grill and Diner.
Hmm, not sure which I truly consider our first date. The first time we went somewhere alone was an impromptu trip to Starbucks, then back to my place to talk and hang out. The first planned outting was an orchestra concert by the lake, but we were with a group of friends.

We saw Pirates of the Caribbean at the theater in Georgetown. Then, we went to a few bars in Georgetown, where I realized that DH was just as picky about bars, restaurants, crowds, table location, etc. as I am, and I just knew he was a keeper.
I'm not going to count the trip to a nearby bar after work that ended in a makeout session.... (we worked at a restaurant)
A local restaurant in Sarasota, FL (where DH is from). Food was not that great, but the conversation was good.

We went to a shooting range and then out to lunch... apparently I won him over with my amazing target precision.
We went to Luna Cafe in Dupont for lunch. He was taking the LSATs the next day, and I was heading down to Atlanta to visit a friend, but we really wanted to make it happen. We'd been coworkers for a year at that point and had finally admitted we liked each other . . . we had already had a late-night "I'm into you" revelation at a work conference that involved some making out. We ended up walking around Dupont for a couple of hours, getting coffee and chatting. That was nine years ago, yikes.
Oh, and I had gotten pesto for lunch, and he carried my leftovers for me and got some on his shirt. I still have that shirt.

we met on a sunday afternoon for lunch at grilled cheese (now closed in 2006 *cries*), tea & dessert at teany, then walked around the lower east side/east village for hours, had dinner and lots of beer at telephone bar (also closed now) until like 11 or so? then DH waited for me to be on my train back to my neighborhood before going to catch his. it was a cool last "first date"
I met my husband at a bar on the Left Bank of Paris. I was with a friend and he was with a friend. The four of us went and got pizza, hit another bar and ended up karaoking to American Pie at 5 am at a cafe on the Champs-Elysees.
Our first 'official date' after that, the four of us had lunch at a bistro by the American Embassy. The other couple had to go back to work. Dh and I walked up to Sacre Coeur and watched the sunset. I had plans to meet friends for drinks and he came with me. When he went to the bathroom my friends all declared him smitten.
Stand up for something you believe in.
We went to Shirlington's Cap City Brewery for drinks. He brought me an apple (I was a teacher at the time). After 2 hours of talking he asked if I wanted to do dinner but I wanted to get up and move around a bit so we went to Bungalow Billiards and played pool. Afterwards we sat on one of the benches outside and "talked."
i would not have realized this was a date either!
We met up for dinner at Faccia Luna in Clarendon, then headed over to Whitlow's for a few drinks.
It was a great first date, but it almost didn't happen. I didn't know my way around Arlington very well at the time and I got lost on the way to Faccia. I was 35 minutes late and back then I didn't have a cell phone. When I got to the restaurant DH wasn't there--he lived just up the street and had gone home.
There used to be a little hardware store beside Faccia with a pay phone in front, so I went out there to call him. Meanwhile his roommates had convinced him to go back to see if maybe I was just running late. When he walked by, I was dialing the pay phone to try to call him. We had both been pretty wasted when we met so we each only had a vague idea of what the other looked like. So he called my name and when I turned around he said that when he saw my face he thought "This could be the girl I end up marrying" (he didn't tell me this until 5 years later when we were engaged!) Anyway, I apologized profusely and explained that I got lost and DH was very gracious about it. Then we proceeded to have an awesome first date!
Ours was dinner at a dive bar/restaurant just north of the Ohio State campus. It was on Valentine's Day 2002 and Chris didn't want anything super romantic or intimidating. Of course, I was a bit of a *** because I kept looking at the time because I had plans to meet some sorority sisters for drinks at the bar...haha.
when we were kids, our first date was at a pizza parlor (Pete's Pizza) across the street from his house. i think i was 15, he was 16. we live around the corner from where Pete's used to be (it closed a while ago).
when we dated as adults, he took me to an Italian restaurant in Old Town that closed a few years ago. I think it was called Echo.
we were "friends" (in love with each other) for ten years in between these two dates and we went out many, many times, just the two of us. but there was never anything romantic physically (only mentally, both yearning for more) until we decided that there must be, hence the grown up date above!

we met in front of a mall and went for a ride on his motorcycle! Then we went back to the mall and he treated me to dinner.
