Snowtober

How are you ladies doing with this weather? What's going on where you live?

We got a slushy mess really.  Trees, grass and cars are covered in heavy, wet snow, but it seems to be more rain and sleet now.  My plans to go out with friends tonight are a no go, so I'm doing laundry and drinking hot chocolate and watching tv.  My Tv and internet were out for a while, which was really boring.  My psycho hubby went to a football game with his friends, and I'm so scared he's going to get sick from being cold and wet all day.  I'm shocked that he went.  I had to work this morning, and he left before I got home.  Although, he left me a sandwich and chicken soup from the deli and a jar of nutella with a love note, so I cannot be mad at him :) haha

 Stay warm everyone!

Re: Snowtober

  • It's slushy and snowy here, quite a lot of accumulation (2-3" on cars at least). We had one large branch from one of our trees fall in the alley, so DH drug it up on the yard. There are a lot of "bended" branches which could cause some problems, I know a bunch of people without power but (knock on wood) we're ok right now. I'm cozied up in fleece pants and a sweatshirt all day, and baked lasagna rolls, cookies and roasted a chicken for chicken pot pie for tomorrow's dinner. Now just relaxing with a nice glass of homemade hard apple cider :-)

  • My mind is having a really hard time wrapping around this much snow in October.

We are at about 8 or 9 inches at the moment and it is still coming down. DH worked all day and is on his way home now slowly but surely. I am playing traffic director and finding all the traffic along the way and trying to get him here as quickly as possible.

I think we are just going to stay put and snowed in and have some drinks. Save all the cleanup for tomorrow! Stay safe everyone!

  • There is A LOT of snow on the ground! I don't like it! I did not leave the apt ONCE today and if it's gonna be crappy out tomorrow then I'm not going to look forward to grocery shopping tomorrow :(
  • You all can KEEP it!!!
  • It's chilly here, but we've had dry weather and sun.  I'm still shocked about the snow in PA - my mom called my cousin in NJ to find out how much they got and he said a couple inches, and my cousins in Pittsburgh even had a little bit as well.  Not as much as what other parts of the state got, but, it's still snow in October.  Bleh.

  • I feel bad for you people and will keep to myself what I did this weekend so as not to brag Wink

Although it was pouring rain Friday night and flooding a little...I started to complain and then I thought of all of you suffering through snow. Stay safe and warm!

  • yowza - we pretty much got spared this weekend - lots of rain and a lil slushy stuff but not too bad.  we didn't lose power and didn't need to shovel!

good luck you to ladies who weren't so fortunate!

  • Hi Ladies! Sorry I've been MIA for a while - work has been so busy!

We got just about a foot of snow this weekend. We have trees down everywhere - they're on power lines and are all over the roads. We lost power on Saturday night around 7pm and still don't have it back yet. Luckily, we do have heat and hot water, so we're able to stay warm. But we went to my mom's house about a 1/2 hour away and are planning to stay there until our power comes back on. It may be out for about a week from what the crews are saying.

This is just insanity - I've never seen this much snow so early! And I'm bummed since fall is just so beautiful in NH, we didn't even get to enjoy the foliage! Grr..

  • I can't believe we are talking snow in October!! We ended up getting around 6-7 inches I think...maybe a little more. I was out in it with my mom....we drove up to my cousin's baby shower (about 40 minutes away) and my poor mom was a mess while driving....the roads were pretty awful! Most of it melted yesterday and hopefully the rest will today!!
