Re: Throwdown Thursday
Dude. Tell her that it doesn't matter because she's going to outgrow them in a few months anyway! And then? tell her to fvck off!

I came out and said - well you can lend us some of those many tubs of clothes you have from your daughter.... she said she was keeping them in case she had another girl.
3 or 4 might have left... I don't consider that a lot. I also wouldn't say that Smo was the glue that held this board together, either...

Why do you think I stalk so many people?

I'm on a roll today, my no-show has left me very snarky.
I think gender reveal parties are dumb. Yes, everyone is excited for you. Yes, people want to know if it's a boy or girl. Yes, people will be excited for you either way. Bulding up to it with a countdown until the big US, then a countdown for another week until you have a "gender reveal party" is ridiculous. Making that big of a deal about it is a little much. Gender reveal cakes can be cute, but drawing it out that much is just AWish to me. No one cares *that* much about whether or not your fetus has a peenis.
signed, still BNOTB.
I am also friends with some people on fb to make me feel better about my life. My loans may suck, but at least they're for a useful degree and not for getting a masters in growing grass. I'm happily married to someone who does not resemble a jersey shore character, and bonus points that my husband is straight. I had a lovely wedding that was lots of fun and I didn't hold it on a tennis court. The list goes on and on.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Glad I'm not the only one!
Yesterday my nosy ass found out some stuff about a CW's family via some googling and searching on the DOC website. I felt bad for a little while and then I decided that she must've WANTED me to know, because she's the one who asked me to schedule the ad that had her brother's inmate number listed on it.

Why do people ask for you opinion when they already have their mind made up whether you agree with them or not? This is the question I ask you, because I'm just seriously sick of offering up any advice or thoughts on on a matter when it's just going to be ignored anyway. Example: aside from law's ticket question yesterday, my mother is insisting on getting Sam a chair for her house... so I suggest this cute, cheap Disney princess chair similar to her Hello Kitty chair at home, where she can climb and play on it and I dont need to worry about her damaging a piece of furniture.... nope, my mother would rather spend $100 on a child's chair that will last her through 100lbs..... I say she doesnt need this chair. She tells me she's not asking me, she's just showing me what she's getting. Thus, I am aggravated, especially when my sister decides to butt into the conversation and tell me to get over it.
Also, do not work with your family. Ever.

Alex is down for his nap so now I can play.
I agree with pp about licenses for baby making or limiting baby making for people in the system. A couple just moved into the house next to us that we honestly thought was minutes away from being condemned as it's been unoccupied for about two years and is in pretty bad disrepair. Anyways, I think this new couple shares half a brain between the two of them and she's pregnant. All I could think was "Really?! WHY!?" It's just not fair. I know so many couples who are dying to have kids that are intelligent and more stable and they can't or having trouble...I just don't get it.

Eh, I wouldn't call you a creepy lurker.
I don't have a whole lot to complain about at the moment except for the fact that I'm reasonably sure I have strep and I'm so stressed about finding out the results of all Jon's tests next Wednesday that I can barely think about anything else. We've had FOUR friends have babies in the past month and it's actually getting tough to focus on the rest of our lives aside from all this stuff.
BUT, I get to work from home and in pajama pants, so that's a plus. Even though I can barely swallow anything, can't talk and feel like sh!!t
And I also agree about having to have a license to have kids. AND, I have FB friends that I keep only to shake my head at.
Thanks Ames
Me too!
I'm not on here very often because of the location of my laptop. I sit in the lab now and everyone on my team, including project management, frequently come around and they can tell I'm on my laptop. I already got called out for surfing the web during one of our non-busy times so I don't check on the board often. This has nothing to do with thinking I'm better than anyone or whatever.
Three of those views are mine, but only because I keep opening this up and then not having the time to read it so I have to keep clicking refresh. Chances are there will be 5 new posts on here by the time I type this out!
I started a new job. I work school hours and am busy most of the time. Too busy to even g-chat with my husband. I miss it here though.
I finally gave up on my baby month board when three separate posters said their six month olds had said their first words. Sigh... I should confess to them that my kid can do math.
LOL This! My SIL insists that her DD has been speaking since 6 months and continues to tell us things that she's "said" - she's 10 months now so now she does say "Mama" and "Dada" but at 6 months she did not say her older brother's name which they claim she did. Yes they're putting together syllables at that point but it's not their "first word" that doesn't happen until they're saying it with meaning about the person or object. I gave up on my baby month board as well because it just wasn't helpful and I had no connection to those ladies. I'd rather talk to you ladies about my questions.
Ya, I know someone who posted on FB that her 4month old, thats right, her 4month old, officially said her first word. And then two days later, added a second word. I seriously wanted to post that she (the mom) was flucking stupid and cognitively thats impossible. And now she's going to miss when her daughter actually does say her first word when she's closer to 11 months.
I can't stand people who complain about their lot in life and then don't try hard to do something to make it change! These "occupy" people are getting on my nerves. I don't know if anyone knows of Dave Ramsey, but he invited supporters of this movement to call in to his radio show, and then basically put them in their place because none of them really knew what they were talking about or protesting for. If you are complaining about not having any money, quit protesting and go mow grass or pull weeds or something.
I also can't it when I see single mothers younger than me on Medicaid with 10 kids and I have none. And I'm not on Medicaid and we have savings and a house and have been married....blah blah blah. And then we are supposed to feel sorry for them and help them out with our tax dollars.
Not sure if I am more lurker or regular but I like posting and try to do so as much as possible.
I confess that I wish I was as close to some of you girls as you are to each other. My IRL friends don't have husbands or kids so I feel I relate to you girls the most.
So...to play devil's advocate here...couldn't you say that they are doing something to change it by protesting? While I agree that some protesters have no idea why they're there other than it looks like a giant party or something. But to me, this is what Herman Cain was saying, that if you don't have a job, if you aren't rich, then it's your fault, and sorry but its just not as simple as that. To me this would equate to telling the people of the French revolution that they had no reason to revolt against the monarchy of the mid 1800s, because clearly it was their fault they were serfs.
I'm 100% with you on this. One of my friends posted the Occupy DC "Wish List" last night including laptops, iPads, 4G hotspots and free places for people to shower and do laundry. Um, everyone else has to pay to have these things, do you think you're special and therefore somehow exempt?
Also, I have way more student loans than most of these people and I go to work and pay them. The biggest problem these people have is an entitlement complex. No one with an art history degree straight out of college makes $100k, and if that is somehow disappointing or you feel the country has failed you because of that you're an idiot. Sure, some people have genuinely bad situations, but they aren't seeking the correct avenues for assistance and they're not helping themselves by camping in tents in parks. I don't understand what they think they're accomplishing- if anything they're just putting their uninsured selves at risk for frost bite and injury.
Stand up for something you believe in.
