What is something you like to eat that other people might find unusual?
Re: QOTD Friday (weird food)
Pickled eggs. Granted, I've only ever had the ones my dad makes, so I don't know how gross the ones you can buy are, but these are like a secret family recipe and I love them. I've even converted DH who hates pickled anything.
Also, pickled okra. Or pretty much any pickled vegetable. I love me a pickle.
After the banana Laffy Taffy, I'm not sure... I like potato chips (preferably Wise) inside a nice cold tuna salad sandwich. I like anything salty (but not peppery). For dinner last night, I had "green apple" (srsly, that's what the label said) slices, dipping them into the peanut bar jar. (yep, we double-dip at home. It's just John and me.)
I don't know that I eat anything "weird" .... bc I'm not very adventurous with eating foods of other cultures unless I have someone there to 'splain it to me.

I can't think of anything totally out of the ordinary that I eat, but I have to confess that I can eat (and do put) sour cream on almost anything. And feta cheese. I put it in anything I can find.
In my house, I am considered strange because of my love of olives, pickles, cucumbers and celery, but that is just because DH's bland English palate never tried anything yummy as a kid.
(DH, on the other hand, eats something called Branson (Branston?) Pickle, and I have no clue what it is but it looks like tar and smells completely nasty. Ew.
Ritz crackers with extra sharp cheddar and a dill pickle slice.
Cheese Doritos with cream cheese on them.
And I blame my mother for these....she's the one that got me hooked on them.
i like to dip pretzels in whipped cream cheese. something my mom liked/likes that caught on with me. i didn't realize this was all that weird until my roommate in NYC was like "i've never seen anyone do that!" but she tried it and liked it too.
as far as more unusual foods, i've had ostrich a few times and i really like it.
Ostrich is way tasty.
I like to mix balsamic vinegar and sour cream and put it on baked potatoes.
I do this too. It's so good! I even got DH hooked.
I mix ketchup, ranch dressing, and tartar sauce. It's the perfect dipping sauce for french fries.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
a lot of ppl think okra is gross & I really like it. i do sometimes dip plain potato chips into ketchup. it tastes like french fries. and, occasionally, i've been known to dip pizza into ranch dressing (this was started when my husband mentioned having pizza with ranch dipping at some pizza place in c'ville)
i've eaten some weird things (frog legs, fried crickets) but I didn't like them enough to ever want to eat them again.
ms.dunphy, i'll be sitting in the corner with you. i love a LOT of weird food and weird food combos, and i'm also a fan of just about anything pickled.
you all know of my chex cereal concoction from previous similar posts, so I'll skip that one. lol.
i like doritos mixed with spaghetti-o's, but you said anything with doritoes doesn't count.
my recent thing has been chia seeds (that's how i got my screen name... i was slurping a chia seed concoction at the time...) i like them floating in various juice/liquid mixtures. to me, they're kinda like a cross between the seeds that are in raspberries or strawberries, and the gelly tapioca balls that are in bubble tea (but much smaller, and less firm...). When you put them in liquid, they turn into gelatinous goo, kind of taking up the flavor of what they're floating in. My co-workers are totally grossed out, so I've resorted to drinking my daily concoction from an opaque cup whenever possible.
It looks like the picture above.
Rice w/ sugar on top.
Flat out turns heads every single time.
Just know you are not alone. I am also guilty of this indulgence.

baby blog/cooking blog

I can't think of anything too strange, but I do like to eat green peppers raw, black olives out of the can, and french fries with mustard.
Also when I eat cupcakes I eat the bottom stem first and save the top with frosting for last.
when I was a kid, I used to randomly chew my (much longer then) hair, mostly to annoy my mother.

Hubby likes peanut butter pickle sandwiches. I think he's pregnant or something.
I can't think of anything too weird that I eat though...

Hmmm... When I was younger I used to really like oreos topped with cheese whiz (sp?). Haven't tried it in a while, though.

My Food Blog
- I like tortilla chips with hot sauce (not salsa, straight-up hot sauce). So good.
- I use spicy mustard as a dip for fries and potato chips. I also like mustard on my grilled cheese sandwiches.
- Warm brie sandwiches with maple syrup.
DH does this too, except he also puts butter on the rice.
I'm a dunker. I dunk Oreos in milk (not weird IMO), and I like to dunk Ritz and peanut butter sandwiches in hot tea. DH thinks it's extremely strange, and no one knows how I picked up this habit since no one else in my family does it.
Planning Bio
I like fried okra, pickled okra (the hot and spicy version) or really okra any way.
My dad is a big fan of triscuits with peanut butter and horseradish. I always gave him h*ll about it but then finally tried it and it is yummy.
DH dips his peanut butter sandwich in ketchup. I think that is more gross than weird.
