Do you think this board is cliquey?

Good question. I do feel like it is a little bit cliquey here, but maybe that is just an impression I get because so many of you are in Britain and Western Europe and have GTGs. I don't feel uncomfortable posting here and I do from time to time, but can't say as I've made any real friends here either.

I agree.  Sometimes I find the board a bit Euro-centric, or to be more specific, London and The Netherlands specific, but overall I find the board welcoming.  And it's nice to have a place where I can come and people will know what I am talking about when I whinge about missing candy corn and college football, or that finding green chilis that aren't jalapenos is darn near impossible.

I would love to be able to have an Aussie GTG, for the girls that aren't in Syndey, if only so I can be with people who understand what it's like to miss things from the US.

I love that you used whinge instead of whine! lol

An Aussie GTG outside of Sydney would be good, but I am so far in the sticks I most likely wouldn't be able to attend.

I don't feel it's cliquey. I haven't posted here for that long and don't really know anyone, but I'm never made to feel bad about that. Maybe it is cliquey and I don't realize it Huh?

Exactly this goes for me too.

  • I could totally see how people could feel left out since so many of us live in London and see each other in person.  I think if I was not in London and didn't get to see so many people so often I would feel the same.

However before I met people I felt welcomed very quickly.  I'm glad I found this board and wish I found it sooner.

  • I am totally jealous of all you London ladies (for a variety of reasons) and in that sense feel left out, but I don't think it's anything you guys are doing.

I don't think it's cliquey beyond the "normal" amount that will happen when a bunch of people know each other and someone new comes along.  But I remember being welcomed pretty quickly and felt like a regular right away.  So maybe a bit, but it's pretty easy to break into if someone tries.
