I had the sh!t scared out of me yesterday and other randoms

I took a leisurely shower yesterday. It was nice and relaxing. I finished up and pulled the curtain back to get out and let out a scream. There was a man in my bathroom staring at me.

It was DH. He wasn't supposed to be home yet, sneaky devil. I told him if he snuck up on me like that again, he would have a dent the size of a can of shaving cream in his head.

I can't find boots that fit me right and I just want to whine about it. I just got the latest pair I ordered and I hate them.

The UPS guy came to drop off my boots and, as he was turning to leave, he froze and looked at me funny. Then, "I thought I heard someone screaming, but it's just the kids downstairs." I was like, "Uh, yeah. I don't have anyone tied up in my apartment, thanks. Have a nice day!"

Re: I had the sh!t scared out of me yesterday and other randoms

  • Last night I dreamt BF and I were the main characters from Bones and we got engaged in the Beef O'Brady's parking lot.  Oh, and the ring was a rock from the bottom of an aquarium with the plantlife still attached to it.

I think this dream says more about what I think (fear?) of his gift-giving abilities than it does anything else.

    This is my siggy.
  • OMG, I think BF would be dead if he had pulled that. My delayed reaction would have been severe.

    My randoms:

My left front top tooth has a tiny, tiny chip right on the bottom edge, and all of my teeth have some serious acid erosion, transparency around the edges, and I think they look fvcking hideous. I can't bleach them because my enamel is so worn that it will only make things worse, and I can't afford veneers or even have them put on with my fixed retainers. If you look at me, my teeth look fine and you would have no idea, but it's bugging me.

This morning has been awful. My dog is driving me absolutely nuts, balsamic dressing exploded all over what WAS a nice sweater, and the reps I deal with are being told to do things wrong my another QA tech and I end up fixing the mess, WTF?! Ugh.

I do not want to see the little dude's mom next month at the little dude's birthday party, but obviously she will be there, and the dude really wants me to be there. I spent months trying to think gracious and open-minded thoughts about her and she has been nothing but a fvcking cvnt to/about me and I am so over it.

Wow, I need a nap or something.

  • DH took Tiny to the vet today for his shots.  We also attempted to make a grooming appointment, but the groomer is only in on Friday's so we weren't able to make it work.  He has a problem with mats and turns feral if you try to groom him.  DH made this very clear when talking about the grooming appointment.

After the shots, the vet looked at Tiny's mats, said "they're not so bad, let me take them out real quick."  A little while later, with his hands torn up, he told my husband "Yeah, this cat is going to need to be sedated to be groomed."

Ugh, maybe I'll need to break out the welding gloves I used for falconry.

  • My randoms:

We're taking engagement pictures this weekend, I'm excited but feel stressed about what to wear. It's going to be cool - so a sweater and jeans maybe?

I'm going to get a haircut this week and it's got me thinking about what to do with my hair.  I'm getting kind of bored with it short, but it looks so drab at shoulder length. At best, I could have shoulder length hair by next year at this time for the wedding. I don't know what to do w/ my hair for the wedding. Any suggestions TIP??

I added pineapple to FI's turkey chilli that he made the other night. It makes it fantastic!

  • I have a random - my kitchen, which has been dismantled and unusable since July, is almost done. All that's left is putting the laminate on the countertops he built and then cleanup. I have been doing dishes in the bathroom since July. When he brought home the new sink (which is by far the coolest sink I've ever seen) and installed it this past weekend, I actually jumped up and down like a five year old on Christmas morning. I can't tell you how exciting it is to very soon be able to clean up our dining room that's been piled with the contents of our old cabinets for four months.

    I can COOK again!!!

    Oh, FFS.

I think it's really sweet that you are considering going to make little dude happy.

  • Being in the shower and being startled is one of my worst fears. Sometimes I get so paranoid that I won't wash my face because then I'll have to close my eyes.

H knows to knock on the door and then say loudly, "It's just me!"

    Or else I will freak.

You are on a roll, lady!

Pedantic- I have a feeling DH won't be doing it again.

  • That had to scare you sh!tless.

I can't find my kneaded eraser.

I am a cartoonist and that eraser has been with me since Day One of my cartooning. Every cartoon I've drawn from start until now is in that eraser.
  • Imoan, the Little Match Girl made me cry! At work. Soooo thanks for that. I do love your blog though.

And thanks, Muddled - I know that I need to be able to be polite to this woman but I dread it. She's unstable and can be pleasant or psycho depending on the day. At this point in the relationship though I couldn't not go. The little dude is my homie, and if they don't get to see me on a weekend day (BF has him Sat-Tues) he will ask where I am. And I know BF would be hurt if I didn't go. So I have to suck it up.
