LOL! Disgusting mental picture though. Barf.
You are one of my favorite people. Hahaha.
I honestly think the Duggars are good parents and their kids seem well-rounded. Since they aren't relying on the gov't for any assistance, it really isn't much of a concern for me how many kids they have. I hope she and her doctor are taking her health into account. I think a lot of the backlash towards them revolves around their religious views which is unfair.
Personally, I want to be able to give my children the personal attention and financial stability we can afford. I don't think I could do that with 20 kids, but it doesn't seem like any of those kids lack from love, material things, morals or care. A lot more parents of one or two kids can't even claim that.
My Israel Blog!
I don't think that's quite the same unless the pro-choice judger is trying to make having so many babies illegal, as are many pro-lifers with abortion. Or, you know, threatening doctors that do abortions - was this judger threatening the Duggar's doctor?
Being pro-anything doesn't mean you don't get to have an opinion. I am pro choice and think that having 20 kids is stupid. I don't see how she can take care of all of them properly and bet that the older kids are basically constant babysitters. Maybe all the money they make from their celebrity will help pay for college and any potential medical issues some of her kids may have, but I don't think that is the best way to plan things and it's a bit irresponsible.
I don't understand how being pro choice means I don't get to have my opinion. I don't get to force my opinion onto others lives, but I still get to have an opinion. Just like I have no problem with someone being pro-life and thinking that abortion is killing a baby - just don't try to stop others from doing it who don't believe that.
I didn't say you couldn't have an opinion. That was actually the second option I listed: "you get upset because of their choices, voice your opinion, and have to accept that they'll do the same when they're upset about yours." I was referring to the people who get upset when people express their pro-life opinions (like those who think the Duggars shouldn't express their religious beliefs re: anti-birth control on their own website. I think that gem was on my month board) but then feel free to say something like "she should be sterilized for the good of her 19/20 living children." Either everyone gets to express their opinions or nobody does.
Like I said - my annoyance at the level of this discussion on other boards carried over to this board and I got preachy even though there was no justification for it here. Sorry :-)
I was responding more to the quote than what you said, so it seems that we agree. Also, that sterilization comment is just crazy.
