I really enjoyed boot camp yesterday! It was a great workout and I felt awesome about myself afterwards! It was also great that Jay Johnson himself led the workout! I am not as sore as I thought I'd be. I guess I'm in better shape than I thought :-)

Re: SA Wednesday
All the people at school who got to work with Jay last December/January raved about him.
I know what I want for Christmas but I also know I will not be getting. The whole Law and Order series (original, not SVU or CI) is now out in a boxed set. 20 seasons. It's also $450 on Amazon. I would seriously love to have this.....
Agreed with Sarah, it was great!
I don't see why anyone would buy the Law and Order Series when KKITM is right, it is ALWAYS playing on any given channel 24 hours a day.

I bought the Sex & the City series even though it's always playing on TBS. It's just nice to be able to watch them all in order in case you missed some.
I have slow cooker ranch chicken cooking for tonight, and I'm pumped. And, last night's roast turned out delicious. I am seriously loving this once-a-week cooking thing! Although, I'm a little disappointed that I am not doing anything productive with my newfound free time.
A question for you tech-savvy folks... So, James got me a Toshiba tablet for my anniversary present. I love it. He really wants to be able to watch movies on it - it requires them to be in .mp4 format. All of the movies that are stored on our computer are either .m4v or .wmv. If I click the file name and rename it, it will still play on the computer, but not on the tablet. I tried downloading some free converters, but none of those worked either. I tried downloading a different video player app that is supposed to play more formats - no luck there either. Any more suggestions? J is seriously almost to the point of taking it to Best Buy and making the Geek Squad do it, which is silly to me.
I agree that having TV series on DVD can be nice. I have the complete Friends series and several seasons of HIMYM, I like to watch them when I'm doing laundry or cleaning, they're good to just have playing, without commercials.
And my husband likes to play COD and other shooting type games as well. I'm sure he'll be spending some time at a friend's house this weekend for that.
I've been researching recipes for Thanksgiving, and I'm really excited about it. Last year we were in Hawaii for Thanksgiving (not that I'm complaining about that!), so I'm excited to do the cooking/family/traditional thing again this year.
I'm not really tech-savvy, so I can't help you with converting the files except to say that I've never figured it out either. But, I watch streaming movies on Netflix on my phone when I'm at the gym, can you do something like that?
Angie - you inspired me to make roast today. I put all the ingredients in the crock pot this morning. I can't wait to eat it.
Also, I have no idea on your question regarding movies and your new tablet. I feel that the older I get, the more I struggle to understand the new things that happen technology wise. It makes me feel really old.
YAY for slow cookers! I'm making a roast this weekend! Go figure I can eat that!
I have the Sex and the City series on DVD too! It's fun to watch them from start to finish. I'm in the process of collecting the I Love Lucy DVDs now!
Leslie, you've got money honey.
Tiffany, you've got mail.
I'm sad that I have to work on Thanksgiving this year, I really wanted to cook my first turkey! But I am thankful that she ended up giving me Christmas & Christmas Eve off though!
Have any of y'all cooked a turkey for Thanksgiving? I feel like that would make me feel like a grown up, as silly as that sounds.
My husband plays CounterStrike, and is kind of addicted. I tried playing it once, but it gave me motion sickness lol.
Since DH and I have to go to 3 Thanksgivings this year, I'm thinking about making 3 different entree's or desserts to bring, but I have no clue what I'm going to do. I know my DH dads side of the family loves my snickerdoodle cookies I made for them a few weeks ago, but I dont know what I should bring for my MILs side, and my familys side. Luckily, my dad is making stuffed bell peppers for Thanksgiving. I'm.so.excited!!
Has anyone tried Blue Bells Christmas Cookie ice cream? I love it! Its DELISH!!
I am so excited for thanksgiving! I can't wait! I make a really awesome cranberry sauce :-)
Angela- DH always makes the turkey. I have no clue how to even do it!

Well it looks like my 2012 is going to be full. Baby born 2/20/12 (or sometime around there), cousin getting married 3/24, sister will probably get married in May sometime (they want a 6-7 month engagement only and he is proposing in 2 weeks) and my brother just announced today they are getting married 6/9, in Lake Tahoe.
I'm so excited he finally asked her and they set a date and everything. They have been together 3 almost 4 years and we never thought they'd get married but he surprised everyone by asking her Sunday and they already have a date set. DH said we'd start saving now so we can go to all. I'm kinda looking forward to next year even though it will be super busy.
We are going to the in-laws for T-giving and I am making cranberry sauce, sweet potato & carrot casserole with seasoned pecans, fiesta corn and chocolate pecan pie. Basically the entire Nov issue of Southern Living...haha!
Oh no, Angie, don't get mad! You are smarter than the computer!
Angela, I've done a turkey in the roaster before, brined and with butter and herbs under and on the skin. My dad bought a smoker last spring, so this year we're going to soak the turkey in this awesome sweet-tea brine I've used for chicken and pork before, and then smoke it.
Dana, sounds like you're going to have an amazing year!
Dana - wow, that's a lot going on! Enjoy
FW Girls... I need a little help. I'm going to dinner Saturday night in FW for my friend's husband's birthday. We're going to PF Chang's on Throckmorton. It's probably going to be just me, so I'm thinking of going early and hanging out in the area, if there's anything cool to do around there on a Saturday afternoon. I'm googling too, but are there any shops and things that would be fun to do for a couple of hours? I've never been to downtown FW, so I figured, while I'm there, I might as well explore a little...
There is a big Barnes and Noble right by Bass Performance Hall, and a few little ($$$) western type clothing stores. Also, near the Embasy Suites, there is a little Cigar and Wine shop (if I remember right, its right across from Chili's). But anyways...if you like wine, the people that work there really know their wines (and cigars if that is something your husband likes....or your friend's husband...good bday gift).
West 7th is really close and they have a Target and some other little shops. Also there are some other boutiques on Camp Bowie a little farther down. There is also the Cowgirl Museum and the Kimball Art Museum all pretty close. Not downtown but about 3-5 miles away. There is plenty to do in the area just depends on what you are in the mood for. You can google West 7th and see what all is in there.
I need glasses...open season is next week. Does anyone have VSP Vision insurance? I've been looking at all the plans and this seems to be the best one. For me and DH its $12.33 bi-weekly. Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated. I just don't want to pick the wrong plan and be stuck with it for a year. Here is what is covered (from what I can tell...this stuff is so confusing):
Exam; $10 co-pay
Frames: $150 allowance, 20% off amount over allowance
Lenses: covers single vision, lined bifocal, lined trifocal, and lenticular lenses (whatever the heck that is)
Lens options: I pay $0 for anti-reflective coating, scratch-resistant coating, polycarbonate lenses, tings/photochromic lenses-transitions, UV protections.
For Standard progressive lenses I pay $55. For Premium progressive lenses I pay $95-105.
For Custom Progressive lenses I pay $150-170
Sadly, it's not. And they don't show the old episodes. Besides, I can't stay up 24/7.
I'm a big fan of tv series on dvd, also. DH and I usually like to keep a series going for when we don't have anything on the dvr to watch. Mad Men was our last big one, and now we're watching Breaking Bad.
These crock pot recipes are so much fun. I cooked carnitas in mine on Saturday, and they turned out great. I also made crock pot cake, but I didn't love the recipe I used. I'll have to try a different one next time. Does anyone have a really good one?
I asked DH (my little computer nerd) your question and this was his response.
http://www.nirmaltv.com/2009/04/30/free-online-file-converter-convert-files/
He said this is the one he has that he used to get on my old iPhone. Hope that helps!
With something like SATC, they can't show all of the episode in a few instances because, well, you know.
We do a smoked turkey now. I don't care for the Thanksgiving food myself. I'm not a big turkey person and the only thing I really enjoy is the cheeseball that my dad (now my brother makes) especially for me and pecan pie. I really just enjoy being with everyone and watching football. We eat during the Lions' game, sleep (sort of) through the Cowboy game and snack through the Aggie game.
But it would be a lot cooler if you could!
Bio
Sure would, because I would probably watch TV over night. Movies, stuff on the DVR. Stupid sleep.
Definitely not the only one! Although, my husband is more of the computer gamer, on WoW and Minecraft, we definitely had a zombie killing game on for the entire evening last night. haha.
