I woke up Monday morning with what I thought was a spider bite on my stomach. No big deal but I was a little concerned because Molly sleeps with us at least a little each night. As the week went by the "bite" got worse and DH kept nagging me to go to the doc. So on my way home from work I ran by urgent care just to shut him up. Turns out I have flipping MRSA! And according to the doc my school is crawling with the stuff. Great. I'm not really worried about me. I got prescriptions and instructions and all that jazz, but I'm worried about Molly!
Re: Freaking Out - MRSA
I'm sorry to hear that
. I hope you get better soon.
If it makes you feel any better, DH has had it several times and we slept/showered together each time before we realized he was having another outbreak and I've never gotten it. (Even when I did have cuts/scrapes.) Make sure she doesn't have any broken/dry skin- cover it well if she does. And put DH on diaper duty.
And we always did a double-wash of bed linens on the hot cycle and cleaned all the hard surfaces with a bleach solution.
Our crazy, wonderful life
I hope you get better quickly and it stays away from Molly.
My cousin's 3 year old daughter has had MRSA three or four times. The have horrible luck with medical issues though
This! Has the school you teach at sent anything out about this?
No. I don't even think the school is aware of the problem. I will make sure they are very aware tomorrow!
