Re: S/O (Poll) - Drinking
I forgot about that! Last year we added Bailey's Mint Chocolate to hot cocoa...that was delicious!
This. I am surprised that people really ask someone why they aren't drinking. Who cares, it's their choice.
I would like to drink more than I do but I try to be calorie conscious. My H has a beer or two every day with dinner; he even brews his own.
Oh yes, while I don't particularly LOVE driving, I often head up a carpool to events just so no one has to even think twice about it.
This is me. I used to drink a lot more in my single days, but with my hypoglycemia after several drinks I would crash and come close to fainting. I found myself in many a bathroom floors back in the day (yuck, I know). I've been to Napa and enjoyed myself a ton (thank God most places we went had food available), but on a regular basis I am not a dinner and drinks kind of girl. As I've gotten older, red wine does a number on me and I especially don't handle it well. My go to drinks are wine coolers (I get made fun of all the time with that one), rum & coke, mojito's and sangria. I still enjoy going out with my "lush" friends, half the fun is making fun of them when they make asses of themselves...lol.
I don't think the clicky options distinguish enough between those who like to get their drank on and those who regularly drink but in moderation and almost never to the point of getting drunk.
I fall in the latter these days but used to be in the former. A glass of red wine each night is supposed to be good for your heart. I drink mostly wine and will have a glass 4-5 times a week, usually during the week because it helps me wind down from a day of heavy concentration at work.
However, there is a nestie who I'm hoping is going to the cookie exchange who doesn't drink and I'm hoping i can ask her to be my designated driver so I can have some cocktails which will be much needed on that particular day. =D

I drink frequently... However, I'm not into being drunk. 2 drinks is enough for me. If I'm feeling wild I may have 3, but that's rare. We belong to a wine tasting group in our neighborhood, have subscriptions to several wine clubs, and enjoy walking around Specs for fun.
I may drink every day for several weeks and then have nothing for several weeks. Just depends on the mood.
When I was younger, I drank quite a bit. In my 20s, I drank several times a week and got drunk most weekends. In my early 30s, I drank like once a week or less, maybe getting drunk every once in a while. I stopped drinking for my first pregnancy, and ever since, I don't drink much at all. I don't drink a lot, but it's more than a couple of times a year. I'd say once or twice a month, and then it's usually no more than 2 drinks. Maybe a couple of times a year I'll get beyond buzzed, but I don't remember the last time I was truly drunk.
I also can't imagine asking someone why they're not drinking, unless I know that person to be a big drinker usually.
she does. and luckily at least once a year, i get to drink with her.
i love a good drink. i don't drink much at home anymore (since the kids were born. before that, DH and I would put back 1-2 bottles in a night just cooking dinner and watching tv). DH usually has a glass after the kids go to bed, but I am a very social drinker. I love a good conversation with a glass of wine in my hand and, admittedly, I enjoy getting drunk. I enjoy when the people I'm with get their tipsy on too.
Bring it!!!! I have a DD. It is on.
I might get tipsy once a year or less but I do enjoy a good beer or a nice glass of wine. Good and nice meaning kinda expensive and therefore it's a rare treat. Haha. I kind of miss the days when my idea of a good beer was a Bud Light and my idea of a nice glass of wine was Sutter Home white zin because it was much cheaper then! So much tastier now though. :-)
