SA Wednesday!

I have something to say. I just heard from my sister in Norway and she's pregnant again! I guess I'll have to make a trip up there next year. She's a little upset because the baby is due the same month as her BIL's wedding and she's worried his fiance isn't going to take it well. They already have a bad relationship and this won't help. I just hope she enjoys this pregnancy! I can't wait to have another niece (hoping for a girl) or nephew!

Re: SA Wednesday!

  • Bootcamp ladies, I confirmed that they will use the gym if the weather gets too cold.

I love hard workouts because I sleep so amazingly afterwards.  Although after last night I learned my lesson about eating enough food even if I dont want to before bootcamp.

We do a new hire luncheon for every new group of teammates to join our team and I just dont understand why everyone wants pizza every.single.time.  I am so pizzaed out.

  • I am either getting really good at tuning people out or my hearing is getting as bad as DH's.

The shower in our bathroom has randomly decided not to work so we will have to become bath people for a bit until we get it fixed :(  I don't mind baths but I get water in my ears if I am washing my hair.

Speaking of hair, I spent way too much money on it last night and it makes me a little sick.  I'm going to start going to my old lady next year.

Stephie- I had a dream last night about Ben's diabetic cat.  He placed a craigslist ad for someone to watch it during the day and he hired my MIL.  Completely random!

BL- We do pizza for everything as well.  I can't complain much because it's free and I would much rather have the pizza over these sandwiches we get every once in awhile...they are gross.

Oh yay, I'm 75% sure I am going to sign up for next month now. Mark has declared he is "out" for December because of the cold...not sure if this news will change his mind.
  • This morning I leaned over to kiss H on the back of the head, and he jerked back and headbutted me in the mouth.  =(
  • I had to come back to work today even though I still don't feel 100% :-/. And I have a ton of stuff to catch up on!  And now my internet won't work :-(

  • Deepthi- I sure hope FSIL is cool with it and doesn't think your sister purposefully did this.  This reminds me of the discussions on TK about how you get one day, not a month and not a year.

  • I know we were talking about scheduled c-sections vs. regular birth last week... I saw this article today.

    Any thoughts?

  • Deepthi: I agree with Jaymi.  Your sister's FSIL gets one day.  It's not like your sister timed it to coincide with her wedding.  I don't understand when people get upset over things like that.

Our movers just called to confirm our move on Saturday and we are about 90% packed.  I'm starting to get excited.  :)

I had a blast last night at boot camp!  I signed me and Mike up for it next month.  (He wanted to do it this month, but thought I was going to buy the groupon for him, I thought he was buying the groupon... yah, communication is not our best asset).

    Ouch! Hope your ok.

I think the biggest thing will be if the family can come from Norway here. My sister definitely won't come, but the boys are in the wedding I think. I'm pretty sure my BIL is the best man. Either way the girl to me is a brat and I'm just excited for my sister!!

  • Hey girls - good news about babies, boot camp and moving!

Last night was really rough for me. DH is traveling and I couldn't sleep because I was in pain. Then when I finally got to sleep I woke up two hours later nauseous with pain. I am in the waiting room of the doctor's office right now and am a little scared. I have never had pelvic pain be this bad or last this long before. Since we haven't had TTC success anything painful or different in this area worries me a lot. Any T&P you can spare that it turns out to be NBD would be awesome.

    T's and P's to you

Should we Nestie G2G in the waiting room?

  • Brianna - I think it is insane to "schedule" a c-section early.  When we talked about it the other day, I thought it was more like picking the day of the week, rather than moving the birth up by a couple of weeks.  I absolutely do not support that kind of decision, and I'm glad that hospitals are refusing to schedule C's before 39 weeks (unless medically necessary, obviously).

I had a breakfast biscuit just now, and it was so delicious.  I also wish I lived closer to you guys so I could join in the bootcamp - I'm feeling the peer pressure, in a good way :)

I 100% agree. I don't really love the idea of scheduling a c-section, no matter how far along you are, but to each their own.

But to schedule one just to have a certain day, weeks before the child is due?  Stupid.

  • I hope everything is ok Leslie!

My cousin just did spmething similar. She had a requested/scheduled induction. They induced at 39 weeks and she labored for 25 hours, made no progress and had to have a C section after all of that.

This is exactly why it's a horrible idea.

See! Babies will come when they're ready.  :)

I guess I can't have a good and clear picture of all of it.  Cadence came (on her own) at 38 weeks.  I can't imagine what it's like to be 41 weeks pregnant and not having something scheduled at that point. I just feel like the baby will come on its own, because that's the obvious natural course of things.

Wow.  I did a lot of reading on fertility before H and I got married and it just shocks me that people would subject their children to that kind of thing.

  • Re: Scheduled births

My birth with Dot was a scheduled induction, because my ENTIRE family was going out of state for my baby sister's graduation from Pepperdine. But my doctor refused to do it unless I had already dilated to a four on my own (I was) and I was at 39 weeks (I was). So I was really in a "she could come at any minute" place, and I really REALLY wanted my folks to be able to be there... both to share the moment, and also because we needed them to help with Jack.

So scheduled birth doesn't seem THAT odd to me, but I definitely think there's a difference in what I did and scheduling a super early C-section just for my own personal convenience.

  • I feel like an idiot. The nurse left the door open while we were initially talking and the girl in the next room is getting her fetal heartbeat ultrasound. Her nurse opened the ultrasound room door to step out and the heartbeat sound filled the hall and the room I'm in. I promptly burst into tears. My nurse looked like a deer in headlights. I know it happened because I am so sleep deprived putting my emotions right on the surface but I am still so embarrassed.
