Job help- Should I move forward?
Hello,I'm mostly a lurker, but I hope you guys can give me some advice. I have been unemployed for three years, since relocating after I married my husband. We have a 10 month old daughter. I recently applied and had a phone interview for a position very similar to my last. The phone interview went well and they want me to come in Friday for an in-person interview. While setting up the time for the interview and asking the HR rep addtl questions about the company via email, I asked about the work hours for the position. She replied the position is primarily m-f 8am-5pm. However, since the business is 24/7 (call center) and I could be asked to come in early or stay late or called during evenings and weekends. She asked if I'd be interested in that.Im willing to work extra occasionally, but I'm definitely not interested in Working so much that I don't have a work-life balance. My husband works 10 hour days m-thurs and usually gets home around 5:30. I value my time with him and my daughter. The job market has been tough here, so it would be great to get this job. Should I continue with pursuing this job? Should I ask the manager about work-life balance and overtime in Friday's interview? Thanks! -Sorry no paragraphs; posted on phone
