Hokay, no Thanksgiving for me.
Friends who would usually invite me have other plans, and no boyfriend's family to turn to.
I volunteered for a soup kitchen thing, so at least I'll be with people. But guys, ugh. This makes me super-emotional. NO ONE TO GO TO. Not one. I can't go home because a plane ticket requires money.
Oh, and my very recent exbf told me today that he met someone. Pity party, table of one?
Can we post pictures of kitties or something? Maybe cute kids?

Re: Hokay, no Thanksgiving for me.
I'm sorry.
If you were close, you could come w/ my family--we do that. (or, heck, I'd skip out on 1/2 the family stuff and go to the 'community' one my church does--it's nice)
Does this help--Buffy side-eye-ing her 'aunty' dog?
and at the apple orchard?
How's this? Cutest kid on the planet:
I'm sorry. This would've been mine and H's situation if some friends' plans hadn't changed last minute.
I think the soup kitchen thing is a great idea. I bet you'll meet some great people.
It's hard to spend a holiday alone, but could you make it your own? I spent many thanksgivings alone w/ my dog. I cooked my own turkey and sides and spent the day doing everything I wanted to do - Macy's christmas parade, movies I loved, etc. Hang in there gault!
Oh and here's a cute Murph puppy photo for you!
And another!
Wanna do a trade? You go to MIL's and I'll sit at home and do whatever I want. If she says anything about my altered appearance, just tell her to lay off the sauce.
In the meantime:
Maybe this is flammable, but I would NOT go to a soup kitchen to cheer myself up. For one thing, that's not what the needy are there for. For another thing, I'd probably wallow myself in misery to the point where I convinced myself that I was going to end up a homeless bag lady too, with no one to love me, at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving, because every homeless bag lady starts out with her first Thanksgiving alone! That's how it starts!
So if it were me, I'd try for an online meetup of other lonely locals and see what happens, make an adventure of it. Help the needy because you WANT to, not just to cheer yourself up.
There's always next year.
But honestly, for as expensive as the area is where you live, and for the fact that you don't have many peeps there, why do you stay there? Why don't you relocate somewhere that is both more affordable and where there are more people to interact with?
Oh fuss, I've thought about doing the soup kitchen before on Thanksgiving. It's just now, I have time.
I'm making plans to move back to MN in the next 6 months or so, depending on the job market. So yeah, I'm getting ready to leave here. I'm ready.
Tomorrow I'll feel better about all of this. It just hit me all at once today and I'm feeling a little spazzy.
I love the puppy photos!
ETA: Okay, and I guess the kids are cute too. :-D
It really, really was. Sorry gault.
This seems like not a bad idea. Have you started applying for jobs?
You can come to my house! Start driving now, you'll be here just in time!
Also...
RuRu says, don't be sad!
Do not show weakness around the Dread Pirate Joaquin. She takes no prisoners.
I'll probably be doing some version of this during Thanksgiving break. :-)
Also, my coworker friend and I are doing happy hour the day before, so that will be fun. And I'm supposed to see a movie with LDG, although I'm not sure how thrilled I'll be to see him now. Ugh.
I love your baby.
OMG WATCH OUT OMG....
...she's got your nose.
ADORABLE.
This. Look online for any Thanksgiving events around town, I'm sure you'll find a few options that appeal to you.
I'm sorry your spending the holiday alone. I think volunteering is a great idea, but be sure to do something for yourself as well.
OMG - I'm melting after every picture you post!! She's adorable!
Penny Lane over the years!

Broc, she is absolutely adorable. Did you make all of her accessories?
Gault, why oh why, would you put yourself through a movie with LDG? How often do you still talk to him? And why?
Very important information needed here. Wouldn't it be easier to move on if you put some distance between you and LDG?
Want hugs? Boober is good at giving hugs...
