Poll: Do you have a dryer at your house?
If you do then I am so jealous of you. I have a huge pile of clothes I have to wash. It sucks because I think it is supposed to rain all weekend.
Re: Poll: Do you have a dryer at your house?
Yes I certainly do have a dryer! That was a non-negotiable for me living here.
1. during the wet season the clothes would mold before they dried.
2. When I was living at my BILs I found a red back spider in my bra on the line. Here we have bigger and nastier things in our yard. I am not checking every pocket, turning socks inside out, etc before I bring in the clothes.
3. I like having fluffy soft towels and sheets.
I will join your pity party.
I have been watch Homes Under the Hammer and dreaming about re doing a kitchen with a double sink, having a washer, a dryer, and a dish washer.
FWIW, my family didn't use the dryer all the time. I always air dried my delicates, would put my jeans in for a few min and then air dry so they last longer. We would often air dry our sheets in summer as well.
Socks in the winter are killer!

That is true for residential dwellings though commercial have to pay water rates.
They are considering bringing in water meters for residential but there is uproar about it... who is going to pay for the meters to be installed, how much is it going to cost per unit, are we not paying enough in taxes already... People don't seem to realise that it actually costs money to get potable water to your tap - it's not just automatic....
As you can see from this http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056179941 it was a hot topic coming up to the election last February...
Sorry to interrupt the dryer post...
NCV2: I thought I was the only person on the board without a dishwasher and a dryer. The next house that I buy is going to have at least a dishwasher.
I can't decide which I want more, dryer or dishwasher?
It would be great to be able to do multiple loads of laundry in one day, rather than waiting for each to dry first (oh and fluffy towels!). But a dishwasher would save sooo much time. Hmmmm....
This is what we have as well. It takes so long to do one complete load (and "load" is kinda a loose term since it's so small), that we hardly ever use it. But I do like having it.

Yes! It's actually part of the reason why we moved from our previous apt to our current villa. We have a dryer and a dishwasher - like Risa!

I don't have a dryer or dishwasher either. The next place we move will at least have a dryer.
Now I just need to suck it up and go to the laundry mat. Stick my three loads in and read. That's just the way it is. I'm not thrilled but I'll manage. The management company is suppose to add laundry to their properties soon but only time will tell.

Yes, we have a combo one and I think I'm the only one who doesn't mind them. A small load takes about 3 hours, start to finish, but I just put it on as we're going to bed.
It actually broke about a month ago and we had two solid weeks without it working. It was bliss because someone came and picked up all of our dirty laundry 3 x a week, washed, dried and board folded everything and then brought it back the same day. I loved it and tried to convince DH it was more cost effective to just continue, but he didn't buy it. The clothes also smelled amazing. So amazing I called the lady and asked her what fabric softner she used, but it's some bulk buy commerical thing - shame.
We have a washer, dishwasher, and dryer. However, the dryer broke last week, and we are waiting for a part to come in.
I don't dry all my clothes, but it really helps with socks, sweats, and t-shirts. I've had to wash my clothes with no dryer this week, and it sucks. I have to iron everything, so it is soft. My sheets and towels are building up, and I'm hoping the part comes in soon, so I don't have to lug everything down to the drying room. This room is so cold, and nothing ever dries in less than a week.
I feel so lost without my dryer this week!
Yep, coin op washer and dryer in the basement. I don't feel like clothes are really clean when they're line dried for some reason.
ETA: no dishwasher though and I HATE IT!
My Israel Blog!
Yes. I hated it so much when we didn't have one that it was at the top of my list of things to get for the house.
Life is good now.
