Re: Friday....

  • Sorry for everyone's bad day. :(

Breaking Dawn was awesome last night and I got to sleep in this morning.

I called every boarding place from NW Fort Worth to Rockwall and no one has room.

You might try Rawhide Resort. My coworker just called two days ago to board her dog for Thanksgiving and the guy told her they had plenty of room. It's in NW Fort Worth.

    http://www.rawhideresort.com/

They have space and they have giant rooms and a giant play yard. This place was meant for Titan. I told the guy who answered the phone that they need to work on their Google placement. I called literally 33 places last night and they never popped up.

80 square foot runs!! WOW!   If I ever have to board a pup, this is my place.

You know I would happily take Titan in (and never give him back!!) , but I have a sick pup myself.  :(

Oh, I've been meaning to ask, how is your puppy doing?

On an unrelated note, tons of girls in my class this morning were gushing about the Twilight movie. Another girl was talking about how poorly crafted the books are and mentioned this blog. If you are a grammar or book nerd you will appreciate it, even if you love Twilight.

    Thanks for sharing.  :)

I could just see it now, we would come to pick him up and it would be like when you were trying to hide from your neighbors. We would ring and ring the doorbell, Titan would bark and the blinds would move just a bit but no one would ever come to the door. Stick out tongue

    How is Cosmo?

    Haha! Exactly!!

Cosmo is doing okay.  He was just moved to 2 a day shots this week, a pretty high dose and he seems happier.    He is unfortunately still losing weight though, even though he eats every lick of what we feed him.  He has lost about 25% of his body weight though, and he wasn't at all overweight to begin with. :(

I'm hoping the 2x per day insulin will get him regulated and let his body gain weight.   We also started mixing his diabetic food with a better quality food that has a lot more protein... I'm hoping that helps as well.

    Thanks for asking ladies!

  • Tiffany - I am glad to hear he is at least in better spirits. :)

Confession time: I haven't worked out in like three weeks. Just a series of events not making it happen. I am giving myself a pass until the Monday after T-giving, then it is on.

The rec center by my house started new classes but they are $35/month for each class and some are only one day a week. $35x4 classes I want to take = $140/mo. I could join 24 and do all the classes I want for much less than that. WTH rec center?

I exercised more when I was on vacation last week than I do in 'real life', LOL.  I think it's a sign that I need to get away more.  I got DH (and I, technically) the Wii fit for his birthday and I was excited to start using it next week only to remember his birthday isn't for another month!

I promised myself and my husband that I wouldn't be that wife that tries to lose 5 dress sizes or even 5 pounds for our wedding. haha, and i definitely didn't.  now, wishing I'd worked out a little, so I'd have the momentum afterwards! I just can't get in the game. We go geocaching, but other than that, we rarely do anything active :/

  • I have a Wii Fit, but never use it.  I really need to step up my workout - it's currently in the "rarely/never" category - but I always find other things I'd rather be doing.  And also, I am queen of excuses - my biggest one is my sucky skin, and not wanting to make it worse by sweating (which I swear happens, even if I shower immediately).

I'm working from home this afternoon, and I realllllllly want to crawl in bed & have a nap with Crispin.  He's so snuggly next to me..... maybe in a little while.

I highly recommend EA Sport Active 2 if you want a workout program for the Wii. I lost 25 pounds with the game as my only form of exercise (coupled with eating well of course.)

I also recommend Just Dance 2. It has a "just sweat" mode which is so fun to do if you don't want a structured workout.

You didn't ask but you know I can't help but offer. :)

I don't mind the recommendations at all, Leslie.  I am happy to have them and almost asked for a recommendation but opted against buying anything else right now.

ETA: Did you need the remote dumbbells or resistance bands or any of the extra stuff they sell with EA2?

This is a worry of mine as we hardly use the Wii as it is.  But if DH won't use it, I will.  I'm pretty good at making excuses too and would almost rather do dishes than workout!  I also understand on the breaking out issue, it's just something I'm going to have to deal with.

I'm the queen of "treating" myself. Oh, traffic was bad this evening, so I'm going to recover by just sitting on the couch. That patron was really mean, so I'm going to reward myself for dealing with it well by eating a cookie. I did dishes! That means I get some chips! Etc, etc, etc.

No. The resistance band that comes with the game was all I ever used.

It's late and you will probably never see this, but I'm so glad this place worked out for you (and Titan!). I don't know if their rates are different for big vs. little dogs (my coworker has a 15-pound dog) but I thought their rates were great too.

I seriously need to convince H we need a dog of our own!
