  • Waves Hi to Jilly and everyone else.

Its been a fab day! My coirker has 30 days to straight up and get her sh!t together or she get's her butt fired! And she won't be able to get it together so bye bye she will go!

Other than that I just ordered a pizza and am about to go hunt down the Christmas tree ornaments because we are going to decorate the tree tonight.

  • We're just hanging out. I had to take DH to urgent care tonight, because he got a giant blister (like the size of my palm, ew) on his foot from the ruck march I mentioned previously (I forgot I mentioned it, but Ojo reminded me).

Anyway, the blister got all infected and it is the grossest thing ever. yuck.

  •  I'm laying on the couch watching Gold Rush: Alaska. I have a strong love/hate relationship with this show.

We ate a really heavy pasta dinner with homemade bread so I'm kind of in a carb coma and not wanting to move.

  • I'm just here bouncing on my exercise ball, hoping that will get this LO to make his appearance this weekend.  I'm also watching TV w/ DH and we have a pizza in the oven.

  • I'm at work until late, so I've got plenty of time to scam around on here.

Jilly, I hope YH's foot heals, it sounds real gross like.

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

Holy crap that sounds horrible!  I hope it heals well.

We went bowling and now we're going to get ice cream.  We'll be continuing our bad movie marathon when we get back home.  Tonight's movie:  One Missed Call.

  • Hanging out, reading a book. Went to Chili's for dinner with my parents, sister and her husband earlier.

Im trying to decide whether I want to go to the FRG meeting tomorrow. I haven't gone in a few months due to work but I finally have a Saturday off where I don't have other plans. It's getting so close to homecoming I might just put on my bgps and go in hopes of some info on that.

  • I'm watching the stockpile of Grimm episodes on my DVR and prowling the interwebs for anything to entertain me...lol. S got his flu shot today and has been "sleeping" since 3:30, waking every 1-2 times an hour to nurse b/c he doesn't feel good. Gonna be a long night for this mama.

I read a lot about it when I was PG. I doubt MOMs have to consume all of the placentas. I would consider doing this next time around if it could save me from some of the PPD horribleness I experienced this time. I sort of wanted to with DS but I knew DH would think I was nutso.

I've agreed not to birth my children on my kitchen floor, and that's about all the compromise I'm willing to make with Joe regarding L&D.  He's cared for many babies, changed lots of diapers, but that's it.  He was the baby and has never really dealt with a pregnant woman, so this is a first for him.  I was old enough when my mom had my sisters that I remember much of her pregnancy and breastfeeding days.  My brother and I were born at home.  We consider this stuff normal, but he doesn't get that yet.

I've gotten the man to start making our laundry soap, he tries new vegetables, eats raw fish, and side eyes people for using excessive amounts of paper towels, so I'm making progress.  Devil  He'll be gone the first two trimesters, so he won't be here to judge any of the "weird" stuff I do.  By the time he gets back, I'll be like, "Yeah babe, everyone does this," and he'll have no choice but to believe me.

I feel ya. DH side-eyes me a lot for the more crunchy things I do, but he usually doesn't object. I really wanted a home birth with DS but it just wasn't possible with the whole Egypt thing and all. Next time, though, I would love to birth my kid on the kitchen floor LOL

Master brain washer you are. E would flip if I even brought up the idea of having a baby at home and not in a hospital. And I'm not going to google the placenta thing because I'm sure I won't be able to erase it from my mind if I do.

And a lot of people thought I was put of my mind saying I would totally do it. The placenta has major nutrients and you don't have to consume ALL or every placenta . Some people don't even finish their pills or freeze them for YEARS until the next bebe so tHey dont have to do it again. My question would be if the hospital would give me back my placenta. They can't keep it, can't they?

If you ask and bring something to put it in (like a tupperware or freezer bag) I don't think they can refuse. I did a ton of lurking on the Natural Birth board on TB when I was PG and a lot of ladies there did it, though most of them were home-birthers. I never heard of anyone being refused their placenta. And, though it is out of the mainstream, I don't think it's unheard-of in the medical community.

I think it varies from state to state. It can be considered a biohazard I think. I was intrigued by the concept at first in my early pregnancy. But I just couldn't get past the idea of consuming my own organ, no matter what form it would be in. As I got closer to the end of my pregnancy my stomach got so weak, I couldn't even look at a raw steak, let alone contemplate this concept anymore.

  • There was a recent lawsuit (Arizona I think) where a hospital refused to give the mom the placenta. Mom won, but hospital is still refusing patient requests for their placentas. Some religions use placentas in ceremony, like planting trees, which adds to the argument against hospitals withholding them.
