I feel like I'm spamming the board at this point.
There's no way we would have been able to get Dad to NJ in any sort of timely fashion. He's just not stable enough. We got him moved to University of Colorado Hospital, which is supposed to be top-notch for brain tumors, late on Thrusday. The doctors there haven't given us any more hope, per say, but it's a much better facility.
The new doctor is fantastic. He's been emailing Fei Fei constantly about Dad's condition and treatment options so the pressure there is off Mark's Mom at this point. Fei Fei's good with this stuff, so she's handling it.
We're still waiting for swelling to go down and final biopsy results before starting any kind of treatment. That should happen early next week. The new doctor says it will be weeks before he's stable enough to come home. He's also said that things could spiral down fast and we need to be prepared for that.
Mark and his brother are flying out there this weekend to help out his Mom/make sure they get their final goodbyes in. Mark doesn't want me to go yet. He thinks he'll be able to hold it together for him Mom if I'm not there. I told him he can change his mind at any time and I'll be on the next plane out. It sucks. I just want to hold him and take care of him but I know doing what he thinks is best is the way to go at this point.
We had dinner reservations in the city and tickets to a show last night. We've been planning it for a while so Mark still wanted to go. It was a really good night. Seminar was fantastic. Alan Rickman was fantastic. We laughed our butts off and had a really good time.
And, as we're walking back down into the train station, there was a woman with several large suitcases. Mark walked right up to her and asked her if she needed help and carried them down two flights of stairs for her. It's been arguably the worst week of his life so far and he still steps up to help other people without a second thought. I married the most amazing man in the world.
Re: Saturday Update
Kate, you're absolutely not spamming. I personally have been thinking about you guys a lot, and wondering how things are going, so I appreciate the updates. I'm sure that's the general feeling on the board.
I'm glad to hear your FIL was able to be moved to a better facility, and that he has a doctor you all trust. I'm also so happy that you guys got a night out before Mark has to leave, as I'm sure the coming days won't be easy on either of you. You're so right, Mark's compassion for that woman even as he deals with this whole situation clearly shows what a caring, wonderful man he is. I'm still sending lots of T&Ps to all of you, and I'm so sorry this is happening. Let us know if you need anything!!!

Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm going to blame it a bit on the baby hormones still being out of whack, but I teared up reading the part about him helping the lady with her suitcases. You have an amazing man there.
I can't believe how downhill he went so fast. Was he having any symptoms at all before they went on this trip? Hopefully they can figure out a treatment plan, and get him stabilized and home really soon.
Thanks for the update again! Mark is amazing for helping the lady with her suitcases, you've got a wonderful man in your life!!!
I'm so sorry about your dad though, I hope that they are able to successfully do surgery and that he recovers soon!
