Holiday Card pricing

This is my first year doing holiday cards -- can you guys brief me on pricing of portrait places (JCP, Target, BRU, etc) vs. Snapfish vs. Tinyprints, etc.

On a tight budget this year & just wondering if I should take the girls somewhere for pics or try to 'do it at home'

Thanks everyone :)

Re: Holiday Card pricing

  • Do the pic yourself if you can and do mypublisher.com or vistaprint.com. Both have free offers, I got 30 free from mypublisher. GL
  • Also, do you happen to do Pamper Gifts to Grow? They have rewards for Shutterfly.... I got 25 free cards that way last year

  • cards add up fast! the first ones i liked this year were going to cost me $90 plus shipping and postage!! NOT in our budget. i get mine at costco. they do a nice job and for $15 you get 50 cards and envelopes. i take pics myself but have had pictures done in the past at picture people when they were running a good promotion.

  • Not sure about the picture taking part because we do that ourselves. But for good inexpensive cards, Costco is the way to go!

  • If you're trying to be cost-effective, you should definitely take the pic yourself. Those places will require you to buy the cards from them or buy the digital file, which will be more expensive than getting the cards in most other places (shutterfly, costco, vista, etc). Unless the portrair studio has some awesome deal, its usually much more $$ that way.
