Re: OL Tuesday
Marie - Since you are BF shopper - I heard on the radio that somewhere - maybe Sears? Is offering coupons at the door for appliances - some will be 30% and some will be 90% (maybe 99%?) off. Let me see if I can find which store - I was kind of tuned out this morning.
Thanks for the invite!! I don't know why I'm so weird about it - I have lurked over there for well over a year but am just a bit shy about introducing myself.
I will hop over there and officially check in!!
Stephie - you and I have the same problem. I want to travel everywhere all the time. i honestly can't think of many places that I wouldn't be open to exploring...
And on a side note, I went to the San Diego Comi-Con last year -- it is a very interesting experience!!!! But very fun and in a cool part of downtown San Diego. She'll have a great time - I'm assuming she'll dress up? :0)
Oh goodness if you can give me any tips on this I would really appreciate it! Yes I am sure she will dress up--she goes to these all the time here locally but the whole process of even getting a badge sounds overwhelming, not to mention accommodations, etc.
And I'm a House Hunter junkie--I even tape the ones I can't watch!

The registering part can be complicated. We got tickets through DH's work (he works in video games) so didn't have to go through the whole process. but I know that each of you attending will need to pre-register -- before the tickets even go on sale!
it's crazy in there -- a lot of excitement and a lot to look at. we only spent one day there and then explored San Diego the rest of the time.
We stayed at the US Grant - which is right at the edge of the Gaslamp Quarter. really beautiful, we could still walk to the convention center but it was just slightly out of the craziness that is the gaslamp area. it's also convenient because it's a walkable distance to other sites in San Diego. Highly recommend it!
I'm excited for her -- she'll have a blast!!!
Alright ladies - this is it for me for the work week/school week so I probably won't be on a ton again until Monday. Have a good Thanksgiving and if you are BF shopping, good luck!
Tiffany- My BaByliss hair dryer is getting delivered today! This is more exciting to me than Christmas morning. I ordered from Folica and got free shipping plus a free Sedu hair straightener. Thanks for the rec!!!!
My hair thanks you!
Ahhh, okay! Thank you, Tiffany! I meant to go back and check the Monday thread to give credit to you by name ... but got busy there for a while.
And thanks for the tile person rec! I prefer contractors with a website/email now that I'm in a shared office at work, so this is awesome.
Dear nesties,
I changed my name today!
it's official. glad that's over with
-relieved me
Deepthi-
there's a few places stateside i'd like to see...like NY and Washington. Both of which i was supposed to visit a decade ago but got cancelled because it was scheduled during the week of 9/11...instead we had to spend an extra month in England....boo. i may never make it there lol.
Sara - Wow, a free Sedu straightener? I've heard really great things about them as well! I hope you love the dryer!
Marie - No problem at all, I hope he can help you out!
Have a wonderful holiday!

My best friend's mom works at Neimans and they sell this brand of hair dryer so she has one. She was telling me, when my T3 died, that she could get me the same dryer with her mom's discount if I wanted her to. I asked her to give me the brand name and I went to their website. This is not the dryer she has, but they for sure have a dryer for $750!!!! Can you believe it? It better come with a little person that uses said $750 dryer to style your hair!
That is insane. Really, really insane. It probably doesn't last more than a few years, either.
Dear Nesties,
Need some T&Ps for a family friend. She was pregnant with triplets, lost one early on and had a little girl and little boy twins left. They have been doing weekly U/S and the discovered today the little girl has died. She will still have to give birth to the little girl and they still have a healthy little boy left that will be here before Christmas but she is really heartbroken right now. They thought the little girl would have severe defects either way but she never will know now. Just keep them in your T&Ps for the next month that the little boy is healthy and they get to have at least 1 happy baby out of this tragedy.
-me-
Which dryer did you get and are they still doing the promo with the free straightener?
His points are valid, but that would be sad to hear. I'm one of those very set on adopting as well, but we've decided to look into fostering instead, to see if this is something we can even do. It's a tough decision, financially, emotionally, etc.
Prayers times a million. Wow! That made my heart hurt just reading it..
Sidenote.. anyone have any suggestions on helping a loved one quit smoking??
I am really trying to be a supportive wife, and husband knows I would be absolutely ecstatic if he did quit, but I do really feel bad. The withdrawals are kind of sad.
He feels like crap..
That is really sad. I pray they have a healthy boy and are able to have a strong family!
Onelast - You should try Smoking Sensation Therapy. Most hospitals will have information on it. I know we have a class and things I think. There are a lot things to help, but being there and supporting is the biggest thing.

I know for sure the Sears Grapevine Mills is.. 30% and lucky ones get 99%.. they were advertising on the radio this AM.
Oh geez, I'm glad I got my appliances already then. No way I would go anywhere NEAR Grapevine Mills on Friday...or for the rest of the holiday season for that matter.
Dear Nesties,
The AC company that we used to have part of our AC unit replaced back in April (through warranty co.) called today and advised that an inspector has to come in and look at our unit. Does that sound correct to any of you? It sounds shady to me, and I don't want them near my unit, especially not 7 months after the fact.
-Me
Gosh, 99% off? I will have to look into that!
Although I can just imagine them giving away those coupons to the first 50 people ... and me being the 51st person in line. That's my kind of luck!
Chelsea - I'm sorry to hear that. That is very sweet though!
Deepthi - I would love to go to Paris and Australia one day. Vegas is on my list too but I will be there on Dec. 1st!
Dana - That made my heartbreak. I will keep her and her family in my prayers. That is just so sad.
Dear Nesties - I saw this deal today and I find it a little strange. I'm interested in your thoughts on it LOL.
BL- Here is the dryer:

Looks like the free straightener promotion is over though....
Hmm...that does seem a little strange! We had our whole unit replaced in July and no one has mentioned coming to look at it. If they do come, make sure you're there and watch them if they come in your house. I've heard of repairmen going inside your house to unlock a window for them to come back at a later time to burglarize you. I realize this sounds like a little bit of paranoia but blame it on me being by myself too much LOL and that it actually did happen to us when our house was being built (before we moved in to it though).
Nesties - hi! I missed y'all yesterday. But I'm loving being off work
Tiffany - that doesn't sound right at all, and I'd tell them no way.
Onelast - my MIL used to smoke about a pack a day, and she used Chantrix and stopped. That was back in the spring, and she's still cigarette-free!
Thanks Lacy & Angie. I just talked to my Mom who sold us her house and she said 'no way' as well. She said the only reason she could think of that this might happen is if their license is on the line and/or if they are in trouble for something.
I'm going to call the city as well as the warranty company to do my homework on this. Thankfully DH scheduled this for 2 weeks from now so I have time to look into it.
